    Mobile Cap Plans

New fun story: I've been looking at plans for my mobile because I honestly spend way too much on prepaid. I found a plan that gives me a free phone and $70 credit for $19/month on a 24 month contract. Also, my parents don't want me to get a new phone for some stupid ass reason, so they're disagreeing with it. They'd rather I'd purchase the plan without the phone, and I'm trying to persuade them. Any ideas?

Is this too good to be true? Are you on a cap plan? Have you had bad experiences with them?

Most caps offer more than you pay, simply because you have to pay on a monthly basis, and you sign up for 24 months, so they have your guaranteed sale. Also it costs them like nothing to connect a call. Most plans aren't too good to be true, although sometimes you do get a dud company that will give you a "good deal" but end up just charging you more for phone calls.

^^ As Munus said, most of them are actually legitimate. The thing is, lots of people go over there cap and then have to pay a large bill.

I'm using one of the most popular services in Australia.

I've had plenty of mates do that, and it's a reason I'm skeptical. I'm cautious with money and I use my phone almost always just for text but you never know really :/

As long as there is a way to see how much of your monthly credit you've used you should be fine.
