Hello!

Last week, I released the groundbreaking new gambling website, MMOCasino. Now, the time has come to accept moderator applications, to help with the running of the site. MMOCasino is in a very delicate stage of development right now, and I am searching for 3 quality people who will carry the website to future success with me.

Moderator Perks

• 5% commission on every credit exchange (If someone buys 100M of credits, you earn 5M)
• 2.5% referral bonus (as opposed to the ordinary 1%). This is cumulative - every time someone you refer makes a 100M bet, you earn 2.5M. So, if you refer 100 people to the site, and they each bet 100M every day, you will earn 250M/day for no extra work. This bonus will add up very quickly. When you retire gracefully from moderator, your referral bonus will go down to 1%, but you will keep all the previous referrals. Please note, the referral bonus is only 1.25% on Roulette, as the house edge is lower.
• Possibility of future promotion when the site grows

Moderator Expectations

• You are expected to spend roughly 4 hours available for transactions every day. This does not mean you have to be active on the site during this time - you will be notified when a transaction is available.
• You are expected to remain civil, always, even if you decide to gamble and lose
• You are expected to moderate the online chat (IRC style) and forums
• You are expected to make at least 2 short blog posts every month.
• You are not expected to gain referrals. But that is where I anticipate a large part of your profits will come from

Procedure
A 200M deposit will be taken upon your acceptance into the team. This deposit is of course refundable in the event of you gracefully retiring. From then, you maybe purchase credits to sell from me, at a rate of 1,050c to 1,000,000EoC. You can then sell these credits at a rate of 1,000c per 1,000,000EoC. When people cash out, you use the same rate, but 5% more credits are added to your account than you cash out. This ensures that you maintain 5% profit across every trade. You are required to screen capture (video, or screenshot) all trades. This is to protect you from scam accusations. If you are accused of scamming, with proof, and you cannot provide sufficient evidence to the contrary, then your rank will be removed. You are required to keep a minimum stock of 100,000c (100,000,000EoC) at all times.

Warnings

• In the event of your dishonourable dismissal; any referrals you had will be removed, any credits you had will be removed, and your access to the website will be removed. You will only be dishonourably dismissed in the event of you scamming.
• No profits are guaranteed. We are working in the service business - profits rely heavily on the customer satisfaction we provide. The more you put in, the more you get out.
• Any gambling you do is completely at your own risk and will not be compensated for by management
• Your account is of course at risk of a ban here, albeit at very minimal risk. This system is designed to reduce the overall time spent in game and increase the fun.
• By applying for this job, you are committing yourself to it for a minimum of 2 months. If you leave before this, except in exceptional circumstances, you will jot receive your deposit back

I'm GMT +1 but I can moderate roughly 24/7. My life is different every day and if needed I have no problem staying on longer one time.

Why do you consider yourself suitable for the job? Because I've always been active in this kind of community and because I think I can make it a better place helping others out and being online a lot.
You know about my IRL situation and know that it's good for me to have my mind set on something and when I do it's for 200%.
Do you have any experience in this field? I used to run ( as co-owner ) 'Go' - 'Cash' - 'Bbex' and some other clans in which it was my responsibility as well to make sure that everything went fine. Planning on doing the same here if I get accepted.

GMT+10, I can moderate up to 12 hours a day, though the slots vary as I work remotely as a freelance web developer.

How long have you been playing RuneScape, and which other MMOs do you play? I've played RS since 2001, Classic. I've also played WoW and Darkfall.

Why do you consider yourself suitable for the job?
I am vastly experienced in all desirable areas, having written previously for Australian eSports website GotGames, as well as having an excellent track record in trading here on Sythe. I'm a very mature, level-headed person with a keen interest in gambling, and I feel I'd excel in a moderator position at MMO-Casino.

Do you have any experience in this field?
I've been avidly pursuing RS-related gambling for nearing two years now, having been a general rank in Coin FC for a little under 18 months. I have vast experience with IRL gambling, and have, at a point, depended on poker (NLH) as a secondary income. Two of my best friends are card dealers at the prestigious Star Casino, here in Sydney, and I frequent it almost weekly.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I feel I'm very apt in this sort of environment, and more importantly, the business behind it. I understand all gambling math very well, and feel I'd be an excellent moderator at MMO-Casino. I'm also quite rich in both 07RS and EOC-RS, so I'll be able to take big action, or split with the house should it be needed.

 

I'll keep applications open for a few more days, but I'd quickly like to point out that the deposit can be waived in the case of an exceptional candidate with many vouches.

TheBlackTux - could you elaborate a little on your moderation experience? Also, how do you view gambling? Both as a whole, and within RuneScape.

 

I was mod in rsbot.org (now powerbot) back in 2008-2009. I also moderator quirlion.com (another bot). I also admin'd some forums and owned one.

My view in terms of what, mind rephrasing the question?

 

Are you opposed to gambling? Indifferent? Do you gamble, or do you avoid it? Within RS: do you feel that it ruins the game? Would you be opposed to moving into 07?

Other than that, you have very strong credentials, and I am flattered that you have applied.

 

I'm sure I wouldn't gamble, but I like it. It doesn't ruin the game, it's just another part of it.

I'm always looking to do something, learning and just do different stuff, I'm open to everything pretty much. This is something I haven't done so why not ^_^

I'm not really sure if I like your system of credits , I feel like there isn't really alot in it for the hosts and you don't really trust us. Other than that , I like the idea of a casino for RS..

I am pleased to announce that I have hired 2 cracking moderators! The_Black_Tux and Archy. I am still on the lookout for one more.

The credits system is what will run the entire site when we expand into other games. Naturally, it doesn't make much sense currently, but when we're running on 10 MMOs, all with different currencies, the credits will make a lot of sense.

Hosts will make as much money as they put into it. This is different from the old days of gambling, where it was enough to sit back and spam, waiting for the leaders to bring in bettors. If you do this with this system, you will make a very minimal wage, solely from deposits and withdrawals.

Now, though, the possibility for earning is much greater. Consider - in the past, you may host for 3 hours a day, earning (e.g.) 5% commission. At the clan which I used to work for, 30% of this would go to admins. Thus - for every bet I hosted I would earn 3.5% commission. Now though - I can refer people for 3 hours, and they will continue to bet for weeks - every time, I earn a full 2.5% commission, with no extra fees. After 6 months of active referring, you will be making a huge profit.

Of course, giving a rank on my site does include trust. I trust you to follow the rules, to not abuse the system; but if there is any way to minimalise the amount of trust I have to give - of course I will do that. Why should I trust if I don't have to? It just increases the amount of risk for me. I have a service to provide to my bettors, and I am not willing to let a rogue moderator derail that.
