Should MM's really vouch for who they were MMing for? I mean the trust part is on the MM, not who is using it. I think only who used the MM should vouch for them because they completed the trade sucessfully. What are your thoughts?

Personally, No. But the users have made a trade so they can be vouched. I don't think the both the trader and the MM should vouch. Just one of them.

People who trade generally tend to vouch each other. That means one of them had to have gone first. So saying they weren't trusted so they shouldn't receive a vouch is like saying only 1 vouch should be exchanged per trade.

MMs are not forced to vouch, they do when they want, if they wish to give vouch it's their own decission. When I vouch I post it as notification of that MM has been completed with middleman

Yeah but people still count it as a vouch when it shouldn't be.

I agree, MM'ing vouching shouldn't be counted as +1 towards your vouches, the vouch from the person you bought/sold to should be the only one to count.

If the MM does vouch you, you shouldn't think of it as 2 vouches for 1 trade.

I believe they should so that people can see their willingness to use an MM.

Exactly my point, you shouldn't count a MM vouch as a regular vouch, because he is the one who people rely on with trust.

People can be convinced to use MM based on the vouched that the MM recevies from the users he MMed for, you completely missed the point of this thread.

I am not missing any point. You cannot use one aspect of being vouched by an MM to prohibit it, you must take all reasons into consideration.

How is using a MM vouch-worthy? You're basically not doing anything but put the trust on someone else, and gaining a "free vouch"

Who cares? Vouches aren't always representative of someone's trustworthiness. It is merely how they are interpreted which determines if they're trusted or not. An MM vouching a buyer/seller indicates how that person carries the intention of safely trading and is willing to participate in the community.

People are completely mislead in terms of what a vouch actually means.

"Assert or confirm as a result of one's own experience that something is true or accurately so described."

I could vouch someone for being nice, or being funny; still makes it valid. The MM is vouching the parties involved stating a trade occurred and it was successful.

    THIS.
    As I said, a vouch doesn't reflect one's trustworthiness.

Amitz, come back with a more clearly thought proposal.
