mIRC 6.31 Protection Killer

The title says it all....this program does the following :

1. Register your mIRC and stop that irritating nag screen.
2. Let's you set your own version reply by halting the old one by using a CTCP trigger.
To register the mIRC:
Patch the mirc.exe (6.31)
Run it and enjoy!

AVG generates a lot of false positives. However, I will scan with something other than Kaspersky before installing it.

I just scanned it with Virustotal and AVG is the ONLY thing that found anything at all.

And AVG reports this because the dll (bassmod.dll) usually is used in patches for .XM files so AVG reports it.

Pretty good guess that its a trojan or backdoor of some sort. Most likely either a keylogger or a zombie bot that links up to his botnet, since hes such a script kiddie and admitted it himself. Would recommend scanning your computer with AVG or one of the antiviruses that picked this up in the aformentioned screenshots.

 

Fragg, you'll notice that most of the low and unknown scanners picked it up, and I know for a FACT that AVG generates the most false positives. I scanned it with http://www.virustotal.com and AVG was the only thing to pick a generic.7.trojan up.

 

Why would you use this. If I were you, I'll just downgrade to anything below 6.2, and use a keygen. You don't even to download anything. If you need a keygen, post.

 

I would recommend using either 6.16 or 6.21, really nothing superior in 6.3x
