Terms of Service that was agreed to: He has some posted at the bottom of the thread I bought the account on, but it doesn't specifically say if you buy this account then you are locked into these terms and he never specifically asked if I agreed to the terms. (He did show me them the day before when I asked what his "warranty" policy was.) But it does say he takes full responsibility and the trade wasn't even completely finished.

So I agreed to buy the above account for $2090 in increments. The first increment given was on August 4th 2023 and it was for the price of $900 paid through bitcoin. I contacted him on August 17th to tell him hey I'll have the rest for you in 2-3 weeks with most of it paid in RSGP and if I owe anything else I would pay the rest in bitcoin. He said that works for him, and I have not contacted him since until I noticed there was a problem with the account. At first I thought maybe I was just typing the password in incorrectly, but after trying multiple times it failed. I even remembered that I have the password saved in my saved passwords in my google chrome, and went to log onto it via the main Runescape website but that also didn't work. I do not have access to the email to be able to change the password myself, so only he or the original owner would be able to do so. I no longer feel secure in going through with this transaction, I am requesting that there be a full refund of my $900, and the transaction just be voided, even if he is able to successfully recover the account (which I don't see why he wouldn't be) I don't feel secure enough to go through with the rest of the agreed upon transaction and put another possible $1200 at risk. I may not post much but I've already bought approximately 5Bill OSRS GP, along with 3 other iron men accounts worth around another $1000 in the 2 months I've been on Sythe, and I've had 0 other issues. Hopefully RS Phoenix can explain what happened, and this can all get fixed swiftly and easily.


Edit: He just woke up and replied. First he called me a liar, and said I was just trying to harm his reputation, and said I just didn't want the account anymore and just wanted a refund. He told me that the account was never recovered and sent me a picture of his email, with the username of the account entered into the search field proving to me that there was never no recovery attempt for the account except in the photo there was... on August 23rd... when I caught him in that possible lie he told me oh sorry I'm confused I just woke up that he thought that was the date that I purchased it on, I told him no I purchased it on August 4th. He said right, he recovered it cause he couldn't find my discord name because I recently changed my discord name (which is true, I did change my discord name to match my Sythe name cause I figured it'd make things less confusing when doing business on Sythe, HOWEVER I'm not sure if I changed it before August 23rd, I feel like I didn't. But I'm not 100% certain) I told him even so, I would still like a refund, that I can understand the reasoning for recovering the account if what he claims is true, but I'm just spooked by the whole ordeal and it would of been easy to simply message me here on Sythe, he's already PMed me once before confirming the purchase of the account on August 4th. He told me he is not going to refund me, that my options are either he keeps the account and resells it and I don't get a refund but I also don't owe him anything else, or I continue with the purchase of the account. I feel like I've done nothing wrong, I kept him up to date, I messaged him on the 17th as shown in the photo above telling him I'd have the rest of the payment in 2-3 weeks, which was true (I even have the GP to prove it so its not like I don't have the money....) And he agreed that that was perfectly fine with him as shown in the picture above under the "proof of contacting the seller"... I would of loved to purchase the account, but after this whole ordeal I'd just rather not take the risk. $2100 may not be a lot to some people, but it is to me and I don't want to take the risk with my money. I would still like the full refund, I feel like I've done nothing wrong, and it would of been really simple to contact me through Sythe. Even if he didn't think of that for whatever reason, I would think he could understand my reasoning for wanting to back out of this deal. Here's photos of the conversation.

Okay, well I'm going to bed so I'll be unavailable for 6-8 hours, I edited the original message and added a bunch of detail. Again I can understand that my changing my discord name may have screwed him up. But if he had just looked through his Sythe Pms he could of easily found me, and sent me a PM to clear everything up. I'm now skeptical of completing the trade, and after having the account recovered from me, then called a liar, then him changing his tune really quick I think I'm justified for a refund.. I don't see what the problem would be, I get my money back and he gets his account back exactly how it was. If anything his account gains 5-10mill in profit in herbs/seeds, that's the only thing that changed about the account besides a bank pin, but I'll happily provide the bank pin no problem. Other than that the account is exactly how it was when he sold me it. Side note: He also has full control of the account right now. He sent me the link to change the password but I refused to do it because I no longer want the account, and just want to keep things as simple as possible. So currently the account is 100% in his possession, and I have not logged onto it in over a week (clearly since the password was changed over a week ago.)

 

Well account was never recovered, it's still under my email address until buyer pays full account price, so I just changed password. I tried to contact buyer, the only contact info I have in notes was his old discord name: Bumb_Ditch#2016 (no sythe vouches were exchanged so didn't have his sythe account), after unsuccessful attempt to contact seller I got scared that account may have been banned for botting, rwt or whatever other reason and buyer blocked me, so I changed account password and was waiting for him to contact me, I NEVER even logged in to Runescape account, this can be proved by last login date, because still noone has logged in to that account after I changed password on August 23rd. I happily sent password change link to buyer after he contacted me, but he doesn't want to continue paying for the account because it's "not secure". I can also buy back account, but since it's paid just $900 of $2090 I don't offer any refunds, but can take account back with remaining $1190 not needed to pay (if account would be paid in full, I buy back account for 40-60% price), this is also stated in my ToS

 

Okay here is the last thing I will say on the subject (unless a staff member asks me for more information.):


1. Everything I stated in my initial report was correct. The account was indeed recovered, he even admitted to recovering it. It's even shown in one of the photos that on August 23rd that the accounts password was indeed recovered and changed, he even admitted so in the discord records.

2. Again, I can understand his reasoning behind recovering the account (assuming the reason he gave is indeed true.) I changed my discord, he couldn't find our discord conversation, got nervous and recovered his account. That's fine, I UNDERSTAND why he would do that, he was protecting his asset (the account.) However, had I not noticed in the photo of the email he sent me that there was a recovery put in on the 23rd who knows if he would of ever admitted to recovering the account in the first place! (I mean technically he keeps saying the account was never recovered in this thread and our discord conversation just because it's currently in his possession, however if it was once in my possession (minus access to the email), and is now back in his possession isn't that indeed a recovery?) He may have continued to try and drag me through the mud and claim that I am lying and am just trying to get a refund because I no longer want the account for whatever reason.

3. He claims he was protecting his asset (the account) when he indeed did put in the recovery request, now I would like to just protect my investment and cancel the trade all together. I don't see what the problem would be? He already has his account back. It is completely 100% currently in his control. I currently have absolutely no current access to the account OR anything associated with the account, and have not logged into it for over an entire week. Now I would just like a refund of the money I've already sent him. I don't feel comfortable in just trusting that the only reason he recovered the account was because of my changed discord username. I'm not calling him a liar, or a scammer I'm just saying I'd prefer not to take the risk. I don't normally take that sort of risk.

4. If staff members on Sythe think I'm being unreasonable and overreacting, then fine I'll continue the agreed upon trade and buy the account for the full price of $2090, however I'll be doing so reluctantly, and would really just prefer not to proceed with the transaction. I just also don't want to lose out on my down payment of $900.

 

Account was always on my email because you didn't pay in full yet, I don't even need to recover it.. I just changed the password as a precaution for reasons stated above. If that's what you think "recovered" account is, then yes, I agree.

I offered to give you new password change link literally the first minute I woke up and saw your message, just to resolve your issue asap, so I don't see reason for you to receive full refund in this case, account is as secure as it was, original owner didn't do anything to it.

I wrote ToS to our chat and he agreed by saying "okay"

 

@Tech only mention of ToS ever talked about was in his title of the thread it said "warranty offered" I asked what is the warranty offered the day before I bought it. He showed me the "warranty" which was his ToS I said okay thanks to him showing me what his "warranty" was and answering my question whether he was the original owner or not, and that was it. Only thing set in stone that we officially agreed upon was I give him $900 up front, I give him the rest in a month or 2, once the full amount is paid the email would be transferred to my name.
