Minirank Racks

I don't think they're given out too much at all. The people with multiple rows aren't given them, they buy them. If someone buys one rank from 10 people with one rank.. it doesn't mean they're given too readily.

Competitions/events do help the site.

If a good.. compromise can be met/a formula of sorts to implement the "racks" then it may be a good idea. Although something like "achievements" may be more interesting/exciting to obtain rather than just join date and post count. Like "post in X different sections" or "get to Y posts per day". After so many achievements a new rack is unlocked.

Probably not going to happen but it would be more exciting.

 

I kind of forgot people buy them. Just limited the number that can be displayed would be nice.

 

While I've never understood the appeal of them really I definitely wouldn't mind limiting the number being displayed. I find too many looks cluttered among other things.

 

I like that idea actually. What amount would you say would be good for this case?

8 would be double the number of normal ranks allowed.

 

Pardon the runescape reference, but one can buy multiple sets of armor on runescape, but you can't wear them all at the same time..

I simply ask for a manageable presentation of one's miniranks so that my page isn't stretched to shit by someone who bought/collected 9283490234 miniranks

 

I was briefly just addressing points that were raised here, I wouldn't mind seeing something done, so I do support the suggestion as a whole.

 

Also, would there possibly be a way to make it so that if a user has too many mini-ranks, it'll scroll through them from right to left in a set space instead of taking up more lines? I saw someone with a scrolling user title and took the idea from that.

They should be treated similarly to regular ranks. More than 4 aren't allowed for this very reason, typically.

Miniranks, like regular ranks, are a good thing. Too many are not.

To be perfectly honest I'd rather just see a certain amount able to be displayed. I guess I wouldn't mind these "racks" but I'd rather just see a single row of miniranks allowed. Maybe the rest could be displayed on your profile page or something so that other people can see what you've got. Having two massive rows of miniranks looks cluttered.

Maybe. It's a shopped image to add more to the pants and things. It just takes the metals to a new extreme to show how silly they are. I think it fits well in this case because three rows of mini-ranks is just silly and defeats the purpose.
