Head Admin Rank

This might sound really weird to some of you, but I think there should be a Head Admin rank added, and one of our current admins get ranked to that position.
Our admins put so much work and effort into Sythe and I believe that one of them should take that position and be the leader of admins,
I really haven't came to a conclusion what extra perks they will have. Shouldn't really matter right now as this is just a suggestion so let's see how this goes.
We have ranks such as Head Official Middle Man and such, it would be nice to see an Admin who deserves it to have the title Head Admin.

The Head Admin rank would go to Sythe if anyone. Seems pretty pointless. No support.

 

There are already "Special Administrators" or Head Administrators essentially as detailed in the following thread: About Sythe.org Staff, Ranks and Titles. They are Sythe and Matthew. Matthew even has the "Head of Donations" rank which is essentially his "Special Administrator" rank as it defines his "special" role. Even if it's not as blatantly obvious as something such as "Special Administrator" it doesn't matter anyway since they are listed in the thread as being considered tier 1 Administrators opposed to the "General Administrators" which are tier 2 meaning a rank isn't even necessary at all in my opinion as it is in writing for everyone to read. Just my two cents.

 

If this is the only reason you could come up with, then no support. It's meaningless.

If you're actually looking for someone to lead the admins, then Sythe and Matthew are already doing that, and I doubt they give a damn about having a special rank.

 

Doesn't make sense because there already pretty much is a head admin who has the same username as the forums.

Artur brought this up to me on Skype and after going over a few things, I told him he could suggest it.

The admins should have admin mods and those mods have globals mods and those globals mods have admins who have head admins.

 

As others have said, the Head admin is Sythe. No reason to complicate that. Especially if admin rotations continue.

 

We're one big team anyways with the Admins at the top, don't see a reason to over complicate things.

 

There's Sythe who's obviously the owner of the site. Then there's matthew who is second in command. They just don't have any ranks to show for it.

 

I personally proposed this idea to Richard about a year ago, he didn't really see ap oint

 

If you have admin, general admin, site admin, owner of site admin... it just complicates things.

Govind's not on the staff currently, so there's no General Admin now.

All the admins report to Richard, even Matthew (although Matt deals with website issues than the site itself).

 

I read about the tier 1, tier 2 after I posted this thread, anyhow if the head Admin gets approved by Richard it's not to have way more powers than a regular admin. We have Someone whose head of CDT (Sonia)
Head of OMM (Dave), I don't see why it's a bad idea to have an admin who deserves it just get the user title head admin, and if Richard does approve he can add any privileges he likes.

 

I don't support it mainly because if you reach the rank of admin, you are in all likelihood a competent person; furthermore, Sythe already fills this role.

Those groups need leaders. Admins do not need a leader. They are the highest tier of the site and lead everything else.

 

Without a job description I don't see how anyone can get behind this suggestion. There needs to be responsibilities associated with the position, things that they can do to check & balance other admins. Right now your suggestion is to just call someone king of the admins.

I'd suggest thinking more into it, going deeper into what the job would entail, and re-posting your suggestion. I've learned that you can't suggest "I think we should do this, you guys work out the details yourself" and get your suggestion accepted or even considered.

 

No I don't think adding a rank of head admin will help the staff take care of the site. Also @Syed you forgot n4n0

He didn't forget. n4n0 is a really good guy.

 

Just to be clear for anyone reading, Syed's post was a joke and he referred to all of the general admins as trash except for n4n0. Due to this I wrote in my last post that he forgot n4n0 (since he is also an admin). I do not consider any sythe.org staff members to be pieces of trash, and I do not mean to genuinely call any sythe.org staff members pieces of trash. Hope that clears it up!
