Reducing the grey area in account service reports

From the moment I started actively using the market on Sythe, I've constantly seen reports of banks being cleaned/sensitive accounts being ruined in the report a scammer section. A lot of the time, despite it being painfully obvious that a scam has taken place, the report is cast aside due to a lack of evidence. This is not the fault of the mods, as they are right in saying that there is no definitive proof when it comes to such issues. The owner of the account could have done it in hopes of receiving compensation whilst his money sits on a mule etc.

However, never fear, Kreaated is here! I've had this idea for a while now and have implemented it into the trading guidelines for when I come back to Skilling myself and launch my site. So the idea is this:

IF users want to be more protected and have a higher chance of getting somebody banned, should something like this occur, they must send the service provider a password change link. The service provider must use the link and set a temporary password for the duration of the service. This would rule out any doubt about who went on the account to take the gold/items or ruin it by training def on a pure etc. If this was followed, only the service provider would know the password - if they use workers then they would still do this, as the usual rules would apply where business owners are responsible for their workers.

Example of a report (with evidence) if this was implemented:

    Name of scammer: ServiceProvider123
How they scammed: Got me 200m Defence XP on my pure! :(
    Proof:
    - Proof of Sythe PM
    - Proof it's their Skype
    - Proof of logging into the account in question before handing over the login details (obviously need to show starting gp/stats etc as well as have the provider confirm these before starting)
    - Proof of being unable to log into the account with the same credentials once the password link has been given to the provider
    - Usual proof after the scam I.e. GP gone/stats ruined after recovering the account

Of course, users would be welcome to operate how they do currently. This is merely an idea to perhaps sticky or start encouraging service providers to put in place, as currently, there really is no good way of showing that the service provider was in the wrong. The only guide users have at the minute is in the following sticky: HOW TO DOCUMENT BOUGHT SKILL TRAINING SERVICES - A guide by a frustrated Mod however, after reading it, the evidence that it says to provide would not be enough for a successful report.

I also realise this isn't a perfect fix and there are still a couple of ways that people could abuse this. However, for the majority of cases that I've seen, this would have completely outlined the provider as the scammer and I fully believe this will improve account service reports by a) reducing them, or b) making it easier to ban scammers.

Feedback, opinions and additions are welcome as usual!

I don't see too many customers bein happy with letting a service provider having the password and them not having it, so I don't see it being used too often, but I like the thinking.

How will staff know if you recovered the account back? The provider could say the password got changed and fake it by entering a fake password.

If I'm not mistaken, the provider would be the only one able to change the password after having changed it for the service initially.

I don't think we would ever enforce something like this.

This would only work if we had to enforce every account service and that's just not plausible. I am up for the idea of you creating a sticky to be added into the specific sections saying "You want to keep yourself safe? try this!" for the section. I'll run it by a global and see if we can have it added.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
