As for this suggestion, XenForo is supposed to show the ban end date if one is set. I just did some testing and was not able to reproduce this. I banned a user normally and it showed the expiration date. I also warned a user with enough points to cause a ban and it still showed an unban date.

Maybe when you got banned someone didn't fill out the ban form properly?

if I recall correctly, @Tmoe Would have to answer the question whether or not the ban was implemented correctly. but from my own personal experience, I believe on the day of the ban is meant to be removed the date disappears and the whole period of the time that the ban is placed there is not exact time shown,
As I've been on good behavior lately I personally am I only telling you from memory from that I was banned which was on the 29 April

Bans are only issued via Mod CP unless an accrual of infractions occur.

If bans are issued with a reason, it will be listed in the Mod CP and should display to the user along with an expiration date (timed or permanent).

If bans are issued without a reason, it will be listed in the Mod CP and should display to the user "No ban reason was provided" along with an expiration date (timed or permanent).

Regarding the warning system

If a user receives a total of 5 warnings, an automatic ban will be placed on the user for 3 days with the ban reason "Rules violations".

If a user receives a total of 7 warnings, an automatic ban will be placed on the user for 7 days with the ban reason "Rules violations".

If a user is currently banned with 5 or 6 warnings and receives a 7th warning, the previous ban will be overwritten, with a ban reason of "Rules violations" issued and a 7-day ban from the point of receiving said warning. This should only extend the ban length by 4 days, but there is currently no way to confirm this aside from waiting an entire day.

*Please note: When bans are issued, only an unban DATE is provided, but not a time. This can be controversial and may be causing some issues.

I have noticed temp bans being issued manually or via the warning system, but they are not automatically lifted (cannot confirm always/sometimes/never). If I had to guess, it would be due to the time not being listed anywhere, or there's not a cron being run in order to handle said temp bans. If this has already been addressed in some way, please disregard my comments.

As seen below, there are discrepancies in relation to ban reasons and dates provided to banned users. This is not a result of human error, but more-so a programming error to be addressed in the back-end. I did not make any considerations regarding the Spam Cleaner at all, but I wanted to mention it as I think it's something else you may want to be aware of.
