Merchant Wave Item

First of all the method I'm going to show you is called "wave investing".
I'll show you an example of an item I am currently wave investing: Rune Boots.


Here shows me buying for MAX price in the Grand Exchange

If you cannot get anymore rune boots, I highly recommend buying up runite ore or rune bars.
Ore is better though: this is for that extra 1-2m profit during the process.

Why buy those 2 things? because they are related to rune boots, the term is called "Item Chain".

To explain why I bought them there whilst it was still falling was notice the first mass rise in yellow, that shows the item has just been merched/manipulated.
It then dumped at 162k each rune boot down to roughly 93k each rune boot. At the red line is when you buy for max price, mass merchers do this to make
a bit of profit off the already merched item: This causes a wave effect and will continue to wave until the item stabilizes.

Because I bought my boots at the indicated red line I got them fast and easy, for the others below the red line can find it hard
to get their hands on some boots to invest in because so many other investors are jumping in on the profit.




Here shows when to pull out/dump at a good time for maximum profit:
Dont get greedy or you will be stuck with the boots as they plummet back down to the current average price of "93k".

Now notice the angle in which the peak prices meet?(white line). Well that shows you when it's going to be near impossible to sell your
boots for max/mid so I put in the (red line) to show when you should dump/pull out on or before that line. If you get stuck at the peak
price, the only choice you got left to do now to limit your losses is to sell for lowest price or for anything to get rid of it.

I saw this coming a while ago... Now that you've told everyone we're going to have to dump even earlier...

 

The only time you need to worry about this is when investing in a "manipulated" item.

If an item is already rising due to economic conditions (rune boots are currently starting a bounceback) the investors who see this won't have much of an effect on the final price, since it already has momentum to begin with.

Besides, the whole reason merch clans are BS is that they try to be "exclusive" and wind up scamming everyone. I run ExchangeWatch, and support posting legitimate good investments, to promote real investing over "manipulating" garbage.

Boots can't be smithed, so there is no real reason for ores and bars to rise.
