Right now its just a popularity contest x2.
The only way I could see this working in my opinion is if the CDT makes a well writen report on why their decision fell on one candidate, including why it didnt fell on other candidates. Should be standard procedure to do something like this to not make it a popularity contest anyway, right?
Hey guys - sorry I wasn't able to reply to feedback etc, was on a 16 hours flight and was super hectic with cat paperwork
Anyway,
What @Buyacc said is super reasonable as the public should see why people voted for whom.
Please note, as we also saw the possibility of some sort of bias, we changed the original "CDT votes from top 5" to CDT + PR + TC + some staff as well as no self voting for the May MOTM.
As @Sonia suggested, perhaps a three way MOTM (one regular member, one dev team, one staff) this ensures that it's fair to other members who are not on dev to have a chance at MOTM as we all know dev may do a little more than the norm. I will def bring this up with the rest of the team.
Thank you all for your positive/constructive feedback. Much love and I hope to bring a more community structured MOTM next month.
