I do not know where to post this issue so please feel free to move it if this is not the appropriate place.
I recently got introduced to MaskedArmorys anonymous profile webpage where you can enter your characters region, server and name and there will be an anonymous profile generated that you can post in order expose your characters details.

As I am a web developer myself I just thought to investigate on whether this service really is as anonymous as it seems to be. Without doing much (just opening the developer tools on Chrome) I found they were logging an Object in the consoles output. When investigating this logged object you can easily find the real characters name, on which realm it is and which region (e.g. us -> Burning Legion -> *Character name here*)

I just want to make you aware that everybody who is able to press F12 to open the developer console can see those details and your character is not as anonymous anymore.

I tried to find a way to contact maskedarmory but there does not seem to be any contact for this.

I'm sure thats all because your pc already has all that memorized i think its in your cookies and plug in data im sure you're just able to see this not others, could be mistaken though. Im sure masked armory already knew this before they made the Site so i'm sure its still safe.

 

Unfortunately not. This is not even my account that I was investigating there. And I double checked with multiple accounts. Also console output cannot be cached and therefore this can be seen be everybody.

And you can also try this on your own. Visit a profile on maskedarmory. Open developer tools. (on Chrome browser F12). Open the object that shows something like "data", "config" etc. expand the data property -> expand the armory property -> click on the "(...)" of the name property e.g. and see the real name.
