Marketplace additions. [Eliminate scamming]

If sythe implemented a system where users have to verify via phone number and provide a form of identification for you to keep in your system i belive you could cut back scammers upto 50%.

Make the terms and conditions that if real money obviously gets scammed (not online currency like skins or rsgp) there identification and number will.be passed onto there local authorities.
This wont eliminate scamming but hopefully it will make the market less toxic. Majority of the market is scammers and everyone knows it.
Lets make this a place where trading can happen with a higher chance of not being scammed.

There used to be a phone verification system called SytheVerified, which was removed because it was unsuccessful in it's efforts. I just think it's up to the traders to do their due diligence to avoid getting scammed. Utilizing the OMM system already in place will also help avoid scams.

Edit: So just to be clear, while a system to help would be cool, I just don't think it's something that's achievable with this forum.

 

Don't think this would be possible, not to mention it would also eliminate the community. Some members aren't old enough to have ID's or perhaps some prefer not to release certain personal information. Would have tons of flaws. No support from me.

 

i support, we should have a system where you have to show proof of identity. But like what the other person said, there are tons of flaws, but, they can be fixed.

 

Thanks for the suggestions. I like what playerauctions do but its not a community like sythe, there needs to be somethig in place for selling accounts, a real punishment not a ban. 1000's of people post there accouts and get no where or get bent over and fucked with a cactus. Proberly 10% of the market is legit.

Even something like you cant post in trading forums untill you have a certain amount of posts and handeld x amount of dollar's, fill out an application form to deep your trust.

 

Or until someone with a lot of trust verifies them like a certain amount of vouches from bigger people

 

We already had Sythe Verified User; which was a phone automated system, you would donate $5 and receive a text and be verified that way, it was removed due to copious amounts of evaders abusing the system with fake phone numbers, that system wont be returning, read here. Phasing out SVU discussion

People need to read stickies, not trade with people they feel unsafe with. Be weary and use a middleman, there are free middlemen. The old system didn't work and I don't know if a new system can really help with this issue.

Perhaps we can get all people who actively trade by using a proxy or vps to log in via a home ip. Not sure if that limits a lot of people; and or if feasible, but definitely 100% can reduce a lot of scammers and evaders.

 

Not going to happen and anybody with a brain can manipulate it far too easily
