I think there should be another one of those threads which allows the members of Sythe to suggest mods. (We had one in august? I believe.)

This entire thread was quite the interesting read... I agree, but at the same time disagree with you, R2P. I completely agree that users, such as this, need to be thoroughly investigated and not just slapped with a TwC that doesn't appear until three days later (too late). Although, apologies if I misunderstood, it appears that you're saying you want to simply ban people off speculation; they come off as being shady? Or are you saying the background checks should be a continuous part of the job in an attempt to stop the scam from happening in the first place?

I find many evaders, and report them to moderators.

I do not know how, but I just have a feeling, who is a potencial evader. Did with many people and all they came up as vaders.

Yes, this needs to be done, but let it for staff to decide.

That wouldn't help at all, having the staff choose mods makes it so that the person is fit for the job.

The last thread was just a huge popularity contest.

Actually, it didn't matter how many people voted for someone.

It was a SUGGESTION thread, not a voting thread.

Like it has been said earlier, Mods need to think and look outside the box.

The whole doing some multimod when a topic is up too late. Please spend a few mins daily while you are on the PC; go over the market and see if u spot anything wierd. If every mod put in 10 mins every 2 hours or so, the amount of scams would be lower and less work would take place regarding the reports.

If you find yourself to be busy then simply step down. This market needs people that will put in 100% and has the spare time to do so aswell.

How so? I believe people taht were chosen were due to activity on the site and dedication/support for the site. If people were chosen for people, those who contributed more overshadowed those who were popular. + it makes it a little bit easier on mods to narrow down their decision.

Sythe members suggesting mods =/= popularity contest/people just vote for their friends.

I would welcome more mods though, especially harsh ones who take no shit, who are swift and just beasts in general.

you can just tell whose shady and trying to get someone on this site.. theirs alot..ALOT Of it and mods if they paid attention and read through these threads on the subforums of the market.. they would find 2-3 per section each time they browse.. I do..

The word you are looking for is proactive; They are plenty active. Sadly this is a common trend throughout the world.

People are going to vote for their friends/people who are already voted for. If they wanted an accurate vote then it should have been private with votes sent via pm.

Completely agree with everything you said..

I was in the market for a very good amount of time. I like to think of myself as successful in the market as well. I can easily point out scammers in the gp market with a glance. If I point out somebody who is obviously going to scam, everybody knows it, etc; still nothing will happen. The guy could be paying $1/M via PayPal only, refusing to use an OMM, go first, etc and still not be banned. I really think that in situations where it's clear that their going to scam, you should just instant ban them. If I was a market mod, I wouldn't give a damn if I would get in trouble if I stopped potential bills being scammed from innocent people...

The newest market mod that was just promoted, by all appearances, clueless of the market. If people can't spot a scammer out, there's no reason to be a mod. They aren't moderating the site, their just doing reports. Anybody can delete some posts after things are reported...

No, but I think somebody that fits the position should have. I would get way too agitated being a mod. I think somebody along the lines of viou/video should be a market mod. Not just somebody who posts shit in spam forum and hangs out in the irc.

I totally agree with R2, too many times I see obvious and potential scammers posting threads but I don't bother making a report because I don't have any proof and they won't be banned without proof, a week later they are banned for scamming like 500M when it could of been prevented.

I agree with this 100%. The Market Moderator position is a much bigger responsibility than some other staff positions, and can't be half-assed. I think the promotions for this forum (market) are taken very lightly.

    I completely agree with this.

Doing reports is the easy part, there's no point to promote members for that. Why not then just give mod to top 20 trusted people in the site then? That would definitely keep the site clean.
