    Mandatory OMM

There may be rare cases when the seller/buyer doesn't want to sell/buy the item anymore. What would happen then?

What if someone honestly doesn't have the time to go through the lengthy OMM process? What if it's just annoying and inconvenient for someone with say $300 donator status to have their buyer requesting an OMM for a 5 dollar trade?

It may have been mentioned (I only read the first page and a half), but regarding TWC/Bans; I suggest that these should be given out only once the fee is actually paid for, and not just the offer declined. Eg. if a buyer pays the MM fees and then the seller backs out, he should get permed, and the buyer partially compensated (up to the MM really).

This, and even if it was a $50+ trade or whatever perhaps the person, no matter what does not feel like going first.

For example a new person joins the site, they are selling a phat set, they know they are no going first no matter what and decline to use an OMM, although this is pretty suspicious for pretty much any trade it's not reasonable to give anyone who backs out of a trade and refuses OMM to get a TWC.

    I disagree with that.

There should be a minimum number of vouches required, in order for someone to be able to refuse the mandatory OMM. Personally, I have 50+ vouches. That's not A TON, but it's more than half of the people on these forums have.

I think that I've earned the right to not have to wait 10-15 minutes longer per trade.

    Just my two cents.

    This summed up my thoughts.

I think this would be a great idea, and has no downsides.
But, what about if an OMM does a trade ? I don't think they should be exempt from the rule =p Honestly they're as trusted as some of the 20k+ in trades people I see, well from my view anyway

The only purpose of this would be to prevent direct scamming by not going first.

No support. IMO this would cause too much hassle. The traders should be allowed to use an OMM only and only if both peoples want to. It shouldnt be mandatory.

This thread is pointless just based on the concept that if you are unhappy with the logistics of the trade, DON'T TRADE THE PERSON. That item/service is not for you.

Everyone should be free to trade by their own terms and no rule should force people into trading a certain way. Simply find a new person to do business with, don't worry about bullying people into trading by your rules, they shouldn't have to.

The problem is though, not all traders just walk away from the trade. For whatever reason, maybe a good deal or desperate need, people tend to go on with the trade. We can either approach it your way and say fuck them, it's all their fault and if they do it then they're a dumbass, or we can try to be more understanding about it and try to prevent scams.

Except I doubt enacting this as a rule wouldn't change much, the person could simply say it'll take too long I got other stuff to do etc. and pretty much force them into the same scheme or just walking away.

You shouldn't restrict other peoples freedoms to protect the stupid. This "protection for the stupid" doesn't come at no cost. You are forcing people to trade by certain terms. It would be one thing if a trusted member had never scammed before, but it seems like that is the way that most of them tend to leave Sythe.

I completey agree with this I have had people refuse to use an omm when I have offered to pay the fees. That should be a bannable offence as it is obvious theya re attempting to scam.

From reading all the replies to this thread I've come to this personal conclusion.

    - There should be a limit on who this restriction is posed upon: For example, all members who have below 10 vouches must use an OMM if someone requests it and is willing to pay the fees for it
    - Just so they can't weasel out of it, the person is automatically forced to sell the item via OMM to the person who's buying it or vise versa and backing out automatically results in TWC

I honestly don't see any negative effects of this if it is implemented correctly. It would weed out more scammers and would destroy the "U first no OMM" concept.

I posted here before, and I decided that in my opinion, that there is a choice, such as if you don't find that MM trustworthy. If that is the case, you may A G R E E on an OMM. You can't refuse an OMM, but you can ask for a different one for any reason you wish. Also, you don't have to take an OMM, that has not MM'd a trade greater then the one taking place.
