Make Moderator Logs Public

No support, i honestly don't see any benefit in this. Obviously they are doing a good enough job if they aren't demoted.

 

Example - When I find a ban evader I report it to the upper staff. I get no mod log for that at all.

 

Just saying, "behind the scenes work" very rarely reflects on mod logs, it usually consists of leading and contributing to discussions.

 

No. Every mod would then be ban happy and close happy.

 

Exactly. Mod logs are a shitty way to judge activity and many of our best mods never had massive amounts of logs yet still did way more than others. Users wouldn't understand what the logs mean and it would cause unneeded drama.

 

I do agree it will bring some competition which would in my opinion be good, but also with competition brings drama .

 

It wouldn't bring competition. Mods see other mods logs and there is enough competition to beat the top players. Letting the users see won't really encourage anyone greatly.

 

I don't think it's really our business what the Moderators do. All they're doing is cleaning up and helping people out.

 

Moderator logs aren't the best way to see if a moderator is active or not. We do a lot of discussion and talk about certain issues as well that do not contribute to our mod logs. No support.

i agree with gohan on this one it would turn into a popularity contest...

 

I have about 10 or so logs today. Thats not even 5% of what I have done today, I've been mainly behind the scenes. Mod logs are just a tool used to be combined with many other tools to get an idea of a persons activity.

 

Right and people can just get 10 mod logs in about 2 seconds so they really do mean nothing.

 

No need.. Mods don't need another "incentive" to do mod logs. There are punishments for not fulfilling their duties.

Also, as Verts said; if everyone mods did was a mod log. I'm sure there would be a lot more. I can't count how many times I had Marcell, Louis, etc. help me with a scenario that did not involve locking, closing, deleting, or anything else that didn't involve getting their mod logs up.

10 Logs is about locking two threads, or something along those lines? As for behind the scenes, you haven't been a mod for a week yet>.>..
