Make it so that only users verified on Sythe can join Discord

Pretty much self-explanatory. The cycle of banned users vading discord bans (Mainly Chad) has become way out of hand and i'm sure most people who actively use Discord can agree. Many mods for the most part have been heedless of this happening since users who get banned can just join back and it sets a really bad precedent for our Discord when unverified users can just join whenever they want to under any name and not get banned. I think a good way to enforce this is to set up a system where unverified users are automatically banned via ShinBot or some other bot system until they become verified via a Sythe PM. let me know what ya guys think

EDIT: I was just told that you can make perms that give unverified users no ability to type or join voice channels so my suggestion is that this is enforced for the reasons mentioned above.

That discord is unofficial and is not a part of Sythe. I believe Sythe wants to maintain that degree of separation.

 

No because people who are banned members, want to dispute, need help/hacked/pardon/account recovery etc can use the #help channel available, it creates a link that Sythe needs to maintain open communication.

 

Although I like the idea and it would help solve some problems, it would make the discord more of an official part of the forum, even though it isn't supposed to be. The more I have thought about it the more I agree with @Sonia and @Syed .

 

You can set up permissions so that unverified sythe accounts can only use that channel.

Support, shouldn't take long to set up.

 

I support not letting banned users use any channels except for the #help channel, which should be open for contacting mods and such.

 

I support this idea, all i seen today was someone spamming unban me "@ Richard". You could set up permissions where only verified users can type in the #sythe/Nsfw/and other channels then leave the help channel for anyone to be able to type in there.

 

I fully support this idea lol, we'd finally get rid of Chad's daily spam

 

The second we make this Discord official, we'll see a surplus of problems stemming from what is said in the Discord and it affecting what happens here on the site. No support.

 

This, exactly. The Sythe discord should serve as more of a community chat rather than an official branch off of the main site.

 

It's called an unofficial discord for a reason lol nice try tho.

 

I also share this opinion, it's already painful enough seeing the troll reports due to discord, making it official would be a trainwreck.

You cant enforce sythe rules within the discord unless you make it official, I get how the trolls may get annoying but I'm pretty sure discord has a block feature?

Anyway same opinon as Hahanerd, no support.

 

As it currently stands, discord is unofficial. This may also hinder new members from joining sythe if they happen to find our discord first.
