Do you have any other suggestions for ways we could accept donations? We're listening!

I know plenty of money transfer websites with no fee's, the only issues is, like i mentioned earlier, needing a system that recognizes a user has made the donation and can issues them their rewards (which i'm not smart enough to make, nor do i know if is possible to code or not :embar: ) OR have more then one Admin with the ability to process and issues ranks.

I even helped a user donate last week, and it took me about 4 days to get in contact with somebody who could process a donation (Grave), and then due to my own time constraints it took another full day before I could meet his employee and trade the RSGP.

I think solution to this issue could be to find more users who are willing/able to process donations via RSGP, or to offer other ways of donating to help speed up the process? I understand there needs to be a huge level of trust involved for somebody to be able to process donations, but it seems a bit ridiculous that users wanting to contribute money to Sythe.org end up waiting and waiting due to a large backlog.

Would it be possible to offer other donation methods to new donators, or to get a few more pairs of hands to help process the donations?

Theres nothing but good that can come from fixing the current donation system, i personally know many others that have been willing to donate and decided not to because it was too much of a hassel due to waiting so long before someone contacting them.

Fixing/creating new methods would do nothing but improve the site, giving Richard, Matthew, Verts, FireZ, Gov, etc.. More ability to improve the site (switching servers, etc).

Those were always through 3rd parties too though, if I remember correctly. I wish TBT was unbanned, because that would make things so much easier. Sythe donation has never been really easy, and since they're trying to fly under the radar (Or that is how it seems, with the paypal thing) then you get TBT banned which makes it really hard. So you want to pay WU fees to send $5, it wouldn't be worth it. All the fees associated with the suggestions you made make it to where you're paying 30%+ more than what the actual donation amount is.

I do not believe that mail donations were run through a third party.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that the system could use some work. Would be nice to hear from Matthew on this, because I'm personally curious as to what exactly happened with the paypal, as well as why Western Union/Mail is no longer offered.

Graves' donation and ranks should be added soon as he posted that he's mailed Matthew the money order. Does that mean that ranks get added aswell, or only new donations are accepted, as it doesn't specify if Matthew is going to update the ranks.

Grave cannot accept and process new donations until Matthew's updated his bond. Once the bond is updated, Grave will be able to push the donations through to Matthew, who will handle the ranks from there.

Any persons who have already donated through Grave while he had a remaining bond are eligible for their ranks, and SHOULD already have their ranks. Once the bond is updated, this will allow for more donations.

The main issue right now is that Matthew made the donation management system mostly for his own use so it's apparently incredibly confusing or complicated and it would take a large amount of work to make it suitable for other admins to handle, on top of that Matthew is incredibly busy - particularly right now as he's undergoing lots of changes right now so I'm expecting as soon as he can find time to make the donations system more accessible he will meaning that at least some of the back end issues can be resolved potentially including the bond management

The bond is paid to Matthew first. In Graves case, $1000 at a time.

Grave then takes RSGP donations at whatever rate he's accepting, and forwards the donation amount up to Matthew, who processes the donation and hands out the rank.

Grave is then free to do whatever he wants with the RSGP (which in his case, he resells it)

Once the money in the bond runs out, he has to replenish the bond by sending more money to Matthew in order to continue accepting donations.

It is like Insurance to make sure that Sythe get's the donation money and Grave doesn't scam the donations he accepts. (Even though I know he wouldn't)

Sorry for the speed bump guys. When I started the donations service, I made sure I was ready to dedicate to keep it up 24/7 and process everything quickly, but I didn't expect to blow out $950 in donations in less than a week, and Matthew moved. I'm sure Mail donations will be back soon once he registers his new PO box.

I would definitely recommend looking into more payment options than just snail mail and PayPal. Yes, PayPal is the most widely used payment method, but it's unreliable - not with just chargebacks, but with limitations.

Some things to look into are AlertPay, Moneybookers, Google Checkout, and even donations by Mobile.

Going into more detail with Mobile: carriers charge extreme fees, but it's a reliable payment method in the sense of chargebacks for smaller $5 donations, as it's hard to charge back mobile payments.

Takes about 3 days for Matthew to receive and deposit the money order.

Sorry about that. RSU Meth was not supposed to accept further donations, but he didn't know. I should be able to credit you with the rank in about two days, and then Matthew will approve it.

TBT had a PA system going, and in my opinion was one of the easiest things to use.

As he is gone, there should be someone to replace him for the time being. I would be more than willing to help out, just let me know.

Im online a lot nowadays and can help the process of donations go a bit faster.
