Macroman STILL BANNED?!?!?

Waited at least 2 months I think now and not even a decent response from a Global or Admin. What are you guys waiting for I haven't done anything wrong.......

1 Global and 2 sectionals have asked for an answer from an Admin or a respectable Global, could we get an answer on this.... Remember there isn't even any proof against me in the first place....

A botnot is fair reason for a ban, since the infected files distributed to run the program are not only malicious, but often contain components similar to keyloggers (in particular, stealing passwords, etc).

The question is therefore whether Macro owns a botnet or doesn't. That can be debated, of course, but the grounds you named are not sufficient to lift the ban.

 

If he does have one, he has kept it off the site so why do we care?

 

May I remind you the only proof of him having a botnet is a comical statement about having an IP and port of some kid.

It seems fairly clear that he's interested in them. That, combined with his post about the IP (and I believe some comments made elsewhere), I don't think is "insignificant" evidence.

 

I agree with SuF, if he hasn't used it on-site, whats the problem?

Edit: There really isn't any proof that I would consider bannable.

I would have made the comment that he did. Having millions of computers under your control could be used for an utterly massive bot net attack....

Plus, even if he does have one, he has kept it off the site except for two small comments that don't really show anything.

I believe he should be unbanned, but on probation. Perhaps unban him with a Market Ban and TwC until he has outlasted the probation, in which they may be lifted (6 months?).

There is no proof currently that warrents a ban besides the suspicious that he has a botnet. Although he may or may not, as said above, it's been kept off the site, so I don't feel why he would be penalized for such a thing.

His ban has nothing to do with the market at all. How is that going to help?

 

It seems to me that the majority of moderators don't think he deserves the ban or it's too harsh. In either respect, perhaps we should do something regarding the whole situation?

 

Based on the evidence at hand I suggest he is unbanned. Even if he had a botnet, whats he going to do with it, concerning Sythe?

I think if he doesn't have a botnet he shouldn't be banned. Also, on the matter, I am opinionless.
