    RSBOTS.NET SETUP GUIDE: MAC USERS​


    1. How to Properly download and unzip Rsbots.net client



    2. How to install the client.
    First you will want to download the client located at:

    http://www.rsbots.net/download/

    Now many users have trouble unarchiving there rsbots zip file using the supplied unziper

    so you will need:
    This will open your zip files with no errors

    so once you have downloaded your file and opened your zip file in zipeg.
    Extract all files to desktop

    2. How to install the client
    You will require: The latest version of java.

    you now need to on spotlight search for terminal then load it up.

    you will be confronted with this screen:

    Providing you have completed the steps above you will need to type the following in order:

    1. cd desktop/botclient
    2.chmod +x install-mac-linux.sh ( This will set the correct permissions)
    3. ./install-mac-linux.sh

    Clicking enter after each step.
    you will now be confronted with this screen

    with it installed you will then go to terminal and type: ./run.sh​

    This will run your rsbots.net client!

    Please note: in-order to run the client each time you re-start your mac,you must go to terminal

    Good guide, but maybe add how you need to make sure the right java options are set prior to all of this. Btw, I have a mac and the program I used to unzip is Stuffit Expander.

    Also, I would recommend a free expander called The Unarchiver. Works great for all extractor needs.

    i type in the command after "cd desktop/botclient" perfectly (i even copied and pasted it), it just comes up with "no such file or directory found"
    Ive used this guide to install the bot client before, what seems to be the problem? its the 21st April 2011 (easter event)

    Are you positive the folder is called "botclient" on your desktop? It says no such file is found meaning there isn't a folder called botclient on your desktop most likely. For reference, these are the commands I must put to open the client (not my real name and I renamed the folder bot.):

    You must enter the 3rd command after every update and then enter the 2nd command as normal.
