Luring is worse than scamming?

This forum doesnt give a crap about luring, they encourage it. So should scamming be alright aswell lol?

Just wondering, what do you guys think?

 

Luring is exploiting the stupidity in people, scamming is also the same thing, as well as being a dick.

 

It's basically the same thing, but I'll probably never understand logic of Jagex.

 

Luring is different to scamming.. You can't lure on a forum but you can scam on a forum.

Yeah it's ridiculous how luring is accepted and scamming isn't. This was brought up pretty long ago with the introduction of the 'old wild'. Pretty sad if you ask me. Luring is as sad, if not worse than scamming. Oh well.

 

People that sell luring guide on this forum is to lure people in the game not to lure people on the forum. I'm sure if you attempted to lure a sythe user on runescape purposely knowing they were from sythe you would be banned. Its the same as Sythe dont care if you scam in runescape but if you do it on the forums to other members then you deserve to be banned. You are bringing together 2 different situations

Luring is similar to scamming, but not the same thing at all.

There are alot of types of lures, but generally it's just taking advantage of the fact that someone doesn't have the same knowledge of the game as you do. Excluding portal lures, MOST lures consist of a player being brought into the wilderness. Nowadays there are so many "warnings" about the wilderness it's not that dangerous. Don't enter it unless you are prepare to die and lose everything you have with you.

 

no, sythe is agaisnt scamming, i mean within the community

 

People scout others, ON sythe, for targets to lure.

No way to prevent this without banning talk of luring.

I disagree with it personally, especially more recently.

 

There have been a ton of threads about this, do some research.

I'm sure you can find plenty of information and opinions from other members and staff members on older threads.
All those threads have been closed for a reason btw.

I have always been on the side of no luring and on the side of no Staking Glitching. It is scamming, you are taking advantage of someone either way. Staff will say different, but it is scamming.

 

I once heard a Jagex mod say that luring is in the spirit of the wilderness gameplay.

 

Luring there is a chance to get away when you realize whats going on. Scamming is when you realize it it is too late.

 

Not really. If you were lured properly, you wont have any way to escape. This argument doesn't stand.

 

Luring is more the fault of not paying attention. Scamming is much more eviler.

 

Yeah I still hate both scamming and luring though. I dont mind people botting but when they are using others to gain cash that is just wrong
