losing my brother...

My brother's joining the navy.

i know that i'll eventually see him again but this is hard. He's been my best friend my whole life. Growing up our dad passed away when we were three so he was always there for me. up until about a year ago hes been the closing thing to a father figure i've had. then he fell in love with his girl friend and she took him away from me.
I guess thats a little selfish on my part but for the last year i've felt alone. And now he's joining the navy. People look at is as not a very big deal. ill see him in a few months but its not like that. This is just one step toward him growing up. Next thing you know he moves out of state and were left to phone calls. soon those will diminish too. thats how it always goes.

idk what to do.. im falling apart.

theres a thread in something for all(sticky) for personal support, thats where you should be posting. but besides that does he was to go to the navy as a career and if not. you will see him in a few months. when he goes out on tour you probably wont see him for about 9 months at time but it will give you something to d. write to him and tell him shit become close with your brother again through your letters

 

This would be really harsh if it was a twin. I know what the bond of twins is like. Anyways just wish the best for your brother hes probaly doing something he likes and you should encourage him.

 

What tavalaro said, and I agree its a shock for you but I think that talking to a councillor in real life is a better way of dealing with your personal problems rather than sharing them with a questionable online community. Also:

Losing a family member would suck and the member being the one your closest too would be even worse, I mean a can lie all I want but without my mum i would be crushed.
I do not know how you feel but I can imagine it.

u shuld be proud...hes actually doing sumthing to be honored about. and when he gets back, he can get an amazing job wit the skills he would probably learn
