So I had a lot of bad memories on my main league account (lots of flaming and feeding) and I started ranked before I was ready so I created a new account to try and restart. The account is currently level 22 and I can say that I have improved tremendously. I am not really at the point of carrying games yet, but I am going pretty high positive 9 out of 10 games.

Here are the questions I have for when I reach level 30:

- When is a good time to start ranked?

- Does watching streamers and LCS really help or should I just spend my time playing?

- What guides are good to read?

- Feel free to add any other useful info.

There is no right time to start ranked. ELiminate any and all axniety you have about playing ranked games and losing. What you need to do is just play and learn from your mistakes. Your emotions control how you play in Leauge of Legends. Play to learn, not to win.

- Whenever you feel you're ready. I'd suggest watching streams, playing a few hundred normals and understanding the core and how to of each role.

- Watching streams is one of the best ways to learn.

- Persist on.

Just play dude. As for the watching stuff, just like everybody said above me, I believe it helps but you can't just watch for the sake of enjoyment you really need to analyze what the players do and what not as it goes for any sport

Get a good foundation of all the roles by playing normals. Build a pool of champions you can use for each role and start queuing for normal/draft pick to get a hang of picking/banning champions. Once you feel as if you have a good grasp on things, start playing ranked but make sure you play with an open-mind. Be ready to make mistakes and learn from them.

- When is a good time to start ranked? 300+ normal wins is what most say. but i say when you feel comfortable AND when you can play at least 3 champions (which you own) in every role.

- Does watching streamers and LCS really help or should I just spend my time playing? Curious, this question. I started league the same time as a couple of my friends, they don't tend to watch streams/LCS, but i was an avid watcher, i watch streams almost daily. They are in silver, and i'm platinum. Soo, i guess so.

Couple tips:

1. Players dont even know dragon exists until 20+ minutes of the game. Get those nice early 10-12minute free drakes.

2. Overextending for a CS. PUNISH IT! Most of the time you wont even get auto attacked for overextending.

3. ADC's positioning in a teamfight, its poor in bronze, capitalize on that and remove them from the teamfight!

4. Pick lane stompers. Easy way to win bronze games.

Renekton, Pantheon, Lucian/Caitlyn, Thresh/Blitz/Leona

5. Choose Tanky supports. Bronze players probably dont own defensive runes; and picking a sona/zyra/annie will make you such a free kill.

6. Don't flame. Bronze mentality is Flame=Afk/feed. Easier to just be quiet; dont put them on tilt.

7. LEVEL 1 INVADE! I played ~40 games in bronze/silver (boosting), every game i invaded, and EVERY game i either burnt a free summoner or firstblood or more! Two games i even got a triple kill at level 1. Bronze players have NO idea what to do when invaded, nor is there level 1 positioning any good either. Nor are they're flashes/waste of summoners any good either.

8. WARD. Bronze players virtually never pick up sweepers. Litter that map with wards and buy pink wards and place it in the death brush next to drake. Will save midlane from ganks and guranteed to last 10+ minutes!

I'll try to address some of your points:

When is a good time to start ranked?

Anytime, even if you get placed in bronze 5 you can just climb up if you belong higher. I don't believe in ELO Hell in the sense that you can't climb out, even if you're better, because of teamates.

Does watching streamers and LCS really help or should I just spend my time playing?

Watching streams CAN be helpful but you have to watch the RIGHT streams. Some players are entertaining to watch but don't teach you as much. Streams like Scarra go into quite a bit of detail about their play.

What guides are good to read?

Really anything except mobafire.

Best of luck!

Nice to see your coming back ;), anyways OT: Since your Lvl 22, I suggest playing bot matches duo) to lvl up quick. Thats what I did. I am not that good in league either but I try my best. You cant mute people in bronze I think so ignore them if they flame/feed

I got a lot better by watching and learning the playstyles of pros. then i started recording my own games and learned a lot from my mistakes after watching the footage. I win a lot more often now but I had so much more fun when I was a noob lmao

I've tried watching my own gameplay but haven't found it too useful. I generally notice my mistakes as soon as I make them in game.

I have watched replays with teammates before though.

It might be helpful to get one of your friends to watch a recording of one of your poorer games with you and critique.

I like to play handicap when I'm playing on <level30 accounts, just play no runes. You can also do this on level 30 accounts too in norms, the huge lack of stats hurt a lot, and it kind of forces you to improve your skill in learning to CS/trade, as well as increases your map awareness.

What do you use to record your games that doesn't make you lag.

Hope they help! Let me ask though, what role do you main?

I used to main support and it's still probably my strongest role, but I've been picking up jungling and adc.

. alternatively you can use baron replays

and if you're new i wouldn't watch the lcs to learn, it's so confusing for a new person, watch streams, i'm too lazy to list some helpful streamers maybe i'll post some tomorrow

What a lot of videos/streams, really helps to learn little tricks and how to escape on parts of the map.

Wouldn't really recommend ranked right off the bat, but if you do, don't do it with any or your friends that are already ranked.
