I'm pretty excited for MM2 and the rewards that will come with it, whatever they end up being - the jewelry looks fairly useful, but I don't see a reason to use a ballista over something like an ACB. Non-BIS content usually = dead content :noworry: Either way, I don't know about any of you guys, but I've been waiting a long time for a quest to be released. Hopefully this goes over well and people are more open to allocating future dev time to quest development.

Also, just an interesting link I found when I was doing MM a few weeks ago: http://2007.runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Bonzara. It was the first time finding out about this NPC out of the 10+ times I've done this quest. Pretty sure he'll be making an appearance judging by his dialogue (and it looks like it hasn't been explored further in RS3 either); it would only make sense.

Introduction


I've posted a few progress threads on Sythe before to experiment with different builds. While I did get decently far on those accounts, I eventually got bored of having to limit myself in different ways. I've recently started playing on a main account and now want to experience the full amount of content that the game has to offer, something that I haven't really done properly in OSRS. I started the account as a maxed staker, but gave up halfway through. Since returning to play on it, I've trained it up from ~500 total level back in January to where it is now. There's a lot of goals that I still have for this account and hopefully I'll be able to stick to them. I'm making this thread mainly to track my own progress in the hopes of keeping myself motivated, but any input, comments, or questions you guys may have are welcome as well.

The three main goals that I have for this account are a quest cape, 99 slayer, and 2000 total. Later down the road I'm also hoping to complete all of the elite diaries, but I still have quite a ways to go for any of these.

4/10: Started this thread today. I think what I'm going to be doing first is leveling up my hunter to ~50 so that I can get rc xp from Tears of Guthix. After that I'll probably knock out all of the easy diaries, then go back to slayer. Looking to level that first because I know that the upcoming quest has a slayer requirement.

i think the rewards they're adding are pretty good, quest content is always nice!

 

Good to see content that brings back that old school feel.

 

I'm not a big fan of quests my self, but I like additions to lore as much as the next guy. Other then that I'm looking forward to the new items and how they'll be obtainable

Really excited about it, we have never seen the Oldschool runescape team work on a quest before. It will be interesting to see if they can match up the quality and charm of the original ones pre 2007

 

I hope they allow pures to access Ape Atoll without talking to Daero and getting the defence experience, would help anyone doing chinning.

 

I think its good to bring in old-school related content, but some of their possible upcoming introductions feel like it's leading to another pre-eoc era, which shouldn't be the case.

Can someone post the rewards? I dont have the best of internet at my current location and can't even load the page.

 

* Ballistas: new ranged weapons that use javelins as ammo, will require 30/65 range to use the different tiers and will not be best-in-slot

* Zenyte jewelry: new gem created by using zenyte shard (obtainable after MM2) with an uncut onyx, can be crafted into different jewelry that can be enchanted to provide different bonuses:
Ring - good defensive bonuses (+10 all, +2 prayer)
Necklace - BIS offensive range bonus (+15 range attack, +5 ranged strength, +2 prayer)
Bracelet - BIS offensive magic bonus (+10 magic attack, +5% magic damage, +2 prayer)
Amulet - BIS offensive melee bonuses (+15 all, +10 str, +2 prayer)

Each of these pieces is also being separately polled for being able to be charged with onyxes to provide a healing effect (10% chance of healing 5% on hit, so 0.5% healing per hit on average) that lasts for 10k hits.

The poll for zenyte equipment is narrowly failing, so it might or might not pass, and the poll for the healing effect is definitely going to fail. There also might be other rewards that Jagex has not yet revealed.

 

If I still had the time to play RuneScape, i'd be hyped but for now, its bleh

 

The poll ended today and zenyte jewelry barely passed. What do you guys think is going to happen to furies? The number of situations in which you would want to use one over one of the new amulets is pretty limited, from what I can see..

 

I hate quests but MM is a nostalgic one. Looking forward to doing it ONCE.

Wait maybe not. Did the degrading qualities get voted down?

 

How did it pass? it's at 71%, are they counting "skip" as yes?

 

The rechargeable healing effect failed, but it wouldn't have been very useful at the numbers it was polled at anyways. My understanding is also that the onyx has a price ceiling because of how it's linked to the Tzhaar shop, so it can't rise too high.

The "skip" votes aren't counted so the %s shown on the main website are not correct. The in-game poll booths show the correct numbers (it just barely got 75%).
