    Looking for advice/feedback on rapping

So I've always wanted to pursue rap as a hobby and a side project, but never really committed to it out of laziness and insecurity that I can't compare myself to any of the great rappers and that it'd be plain embarrassing.

What are your guys' thoughts on a regular person wanting to follow this path and make some music? Do you have any recommendations on where to start and how to get attention?

On the note of always wanting to rap...Last week I actually forced myself to pump something out, anything out and record it for the hell of it. Somewhat a shameless plug here, but it's a rap cover of Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself' that you can find here: https://soundcloud.com/jw1zard/love-yourself-justin-bieber-amateur-rap-cover

If you can provide any feedback and constructive comments, that would be great. A lot of my friends have told me that I have the voice for it and that I can potentially do a good job if I grind it out and practice my flow, but it'd help to get some more insights here. Thanks.

Yo man. Try working on your delivery, let it come more naturally. You're sort of forcing yourself into the bar, trying to finish the sentence off on the right part of the beat if that makes sense. Maybe find like a average-bpm beat on youtube and just practice freestyling random words, from rhyme word generators or whatever. I personally don't write lyrics but I do freestyle, I can post something for you if you want.

The lyrics are good, but I didn't enjoy the beat you had going with it, it felt out of sync kind of. The flow didn't feel natural. You should take into consideration what Davey_rs said, practice freestyling random words so you can find your preferred rapping pace, or flow.
