It is my personal opinion that when someone is banned after a long period of good trading for an offense that they committed a long time ago that it is a shame they were able to continue to use Sythe to profit even after crossing a line that legitimate users never do. Those lines are put into place for a reason, and while there are a million different ways you could spin this argument, this is my personal opinion.

Yes, I have played out other arguments in my head, both for and against, but it ultimately comes down to the indisputable fact that if the user would have adhered to the rules from the start they would not be in the situation they are in currently.

Sure, good behavior and being a valuable member to the community could be considered, but I think that through a history of situations like this over time, it has proven itself that when someone is involved in forbidden activity, they are often involved in something else that also was not initially discovered. Some things are just easier to be found doing than others.

In other news, Cosrob's ban is assfucking retarded. The IRC isn't even linked to Sythe.org directly. If you think someone is "trolling you" in the IRC and that is against the IRC rules, then ban them from the IRC or try to get someone to ban them from the IRC. Since when did this site turn into "OMG YOU TROLLED ME ON MY FACEBOOK WALL IM GOING TO BAN YOU NOW"

Letting staff decide who will continue to scam is a slippery slope, you have to stick with the basic rules, even if they lead to a few sad cases (including Plznate's)

 

Kids don't even know what trolling is anymore.

Rules are rules, if you break them, you suffer the consequences. It shouldn't matter how much you contribute, if you break the rules you have to pay.

 

I suppose an important precedent was set here: Nobody is above the rules. OP is banned.
