Look in the mirror.

First of all, I don't care how many people here will flame me, so remember that before wasting your time by typing a rant.

I personally don't feel like writing a rant either. I'm just wondering how many people there are who share my opinion.

Each time I get back from vacation, something is changed on Sythe. And the last months it's been the same thing. Someone's banned. Someone who contributed a lot to the Sythe. Also the reason never differs. He's banned because he scammed someone in 1973 for a yellow wagon and 0.12 dollars. Woohoo. Why not call the cops?

And of course, it's against the rules, but so what? Each dedicated member of this site has most likely broke the rules more than once. Okay, maybe they didn't scam, they spammed for example, but still. I can't see why you won't forgive people who show that they have changed.

Donating 100$, gathering 100+ vouches, making over 3000 posts... And all that doesn't matter at all, in the end? All what matters is that they made a tiny mistake in the past.

Now I ask you, staff of Sythe, have you never made a mistake in your whole life so far? Are you God? Let me answer that for you, you aren't god, and you have made mistakes so far. I can bet. Maybe not on this site, but yet it's hypocrite.

And YES, scamming MUST be punished with a permanent ban. You should learn where to draw the line. If a member with 100 posts scamms 5$, and he comes back when he's 2 years older, why would he still be a scammer?

Once a scammer, always a scammer.

That's bullshit. People can change, and if you don't know that it's time to go outside and get to know some people.

-

Plznate's bann pulled the trigger btw. And no, I have never scammed.

By the way, think about this;

A falling tree makes more noise than a thousand trees growing.

I think the staff handled the situation was handled properly by the staff. They took into account the fact that he is/was a respected member of Sythe.org. It was never about him being a risk to the site. The fact of the matter is this, he broke a rule, he was punished like any other member would have been. Had he confessed, the outlook would of been different I believe. Nothing against Nate, he's a pretty cool guy, but the staff had to send a message. Well done Sythe.org staff.

Sorry, but I disagree with you. I agree that plznate's ban was not necessary but rules are rules. No one is allowed to have fake vouches. It might be that he got the vouches way before he made any trades on sythe but if he was caught right then would he not have been banned? Yes he would have. The fact that he got caught 8 months later does not change anything. As for your argument of scammers getting a second chance 2 years later, they could just create another account and gain trust in those 2 years. Now i'm not saying they should ban evade but lets face it, people do it all the time. Also it does not imply I have done it, this is my first and only account on sythe. I do believe however, that the scammer should be given another chance if they refund the money they scammed and also they can not trade more than specific amount of money, because that might be another reason. They might feel the money they got was not worth getting a ban, so they could try and find a bigger deal to scam.

I assume you mean the second sentence :p. They weighed out the facts, he had two fake vouches, even after being caught he only admitted to the first one. They decided what would be best for the community was for Plznate to be banned. Trusted fake vouchers would of used him as an example in the future.

It's good that the mods didn't show favoritism in Plznate's case. If he came forwards himself and was honest about it, he should be given another chance. He didn't. =/

Not really. As he's a very valuable contributor to the site, I think he should be given a chance if he had been honest.

favouritism US, favoritism [ˈfeɪvərɪˌtɪzəm ˈfeɪvrɪ-]
n 1. the practice of giving special treatment to a person or group
2. the state of being treated as a favourite

Now let's take definition two. Had some apprentice who had little to no contribution to the site confessed to it he would of been banned most likely. I think what you mean is that had he confessed, the community and staff would of seen it differently, but it didn't happen so that is not the case.

Rules are rules, and it shouldn't matter if you have 1 post or 3,000 posts, all members should be treated the same way.

I completely disagree, your saying mods can scam and shouldn't be banned, but members can't? No.

He broke the rules and tried to cover it up. When I was looking into him I went to his vouch page and saw a couple of post deleted by the same user, I undeleted the posts and saw he was vouching himself. He shouldn't get ANY special treatment and should stay banned.

I make mistakes, yes, but I don't intentionally go and break the rules when there is a set list of rules not to break. I don't go around trying to gain false trust, even if it's to boost sales; it's against the rules.

I don't care if he donated $500+, or has 2k+ posts. If a user is found to scam, even if it's for "$0.12" or break rules that would issue a permanent ban, they are not welcome back to the site.

I completely agree.

Extreme example below, but look at the parallels.

Serial killers can often evade capture for years or decades. No one ever says their first victims don't matter.

You are slightly retarded. Scamming is totally irrelevant from killing someone. You can't compare a scammer on a website with a serial killer, genius.

Scammers can be good people who just want something really bad, for example, a pin. You don't have to be really bad inside to scam a pin. And if the scammer shows he regrets his deed(s), I believe he should be unbanned.

So, if someone who's helped people his whole life, steals a bread, he should be punished in the same way as someone who's been a ***** all his life, and steals a car?

I'm surrounded by morons.

OT: What is done is done, anyone who feels that this guy should be unbanned, for breaking the rules is a liar. "Once a scammer, always a scammer." is a true statment, once you've scammed something, you will always be considered a scammer. Once an alchoholic, always an alchoholic.

They go the same way.

He shall remain banned.
