Speljohan is right for the most part. The only part where he is wrong is where indices are scrambled when you connect.

The bots which rely off of hooks will eventually come back.

I've found hooks for 25 values in the past few hours, so I could program my updater to find them, and keep building my updater until I find all the needed hooks.

I'm sure it shouldn't be too long until the botting clients are back up... I'd give it a week or two.

 

Seriously, stop posting if you have nothing to say. I've already reported three of your retarded posts just on this thread. This had nothing to do with rid, stop talking about it. Any of your posts bashing rid is SPAM. They're not advertising anything, he's updating us on the current situation. Nowhere did the OP mention ANYTHING about rid.

It seems their lack of an ETA is not because they aren't prepared or are trying not to create any "panic," but rather because they are wisely waiting for Jagex's next move before they brand their name to a specific time. Unlike Jagex, I and its other customers expect RSBuddy to follow through with what they say. (Referring to the 2-hour delay of the Nuke Timer and the time when the update was actually applied, among nearly every one of Jagex's announcements...)

 

Hopefully things will get sorted out because it really depressing to see 39k ppl online. Sw is empty as hell lol. Oh well we will see what Jacmob has to say tmr.

 

From what I've heard RSbuddy, are only people that seen to have said they will make a comeback.

 

lol the bots are not as messed up as spel is trying to make it out yes they will need to be severely changed but many bot makers were already figuring that jagex would do this at some point. and quite frankly most of the bot clients are already up sort of speak they're just being tested before released and besides honestly who cares about rsbuddy etc.? lol I personally am doing just fine botting my 106 accounts as I was they day before. I see rsbuddy being back up by the weekend.

 

If someone creates a working bot after all this patching, I'd say he/she must be a genius, because for once in my life, I've actually believed that Jagex is doing something great. A once and for all stop for the botting economy. They probably won't give a damn about bots now, since they're billionaires already, who needs more when they're billionaires already? And you're not even gonna live for let's say 75 years, spending like normal would be enough for them already.

I personally haven't even attempted to load any bot myself, therefore I'm not sure whether they even load, however judging from others and that particular conversation, it seems they won't be loading for a while, haha..

It'll be interesting to see the outcome of these bot 'networks' in a couple/few weeks.

Anyway I still believe that RSbuddy is covering its ass a bit, but if they get back up and running, good for them.

Kerokerocola, I can see where you're coming from, but surely if he's got a fix for it as it currently is there would be no harm in releasing it? What difference does it make if they introduce these extra features before/after RSbuddy gets updated?

I just don't fully comprehend why you'd withhold an update that fixes your bot, even if it is going to break again in a few days.

 

All we can do is hope that Arbiter/devs can find a way.

 

What do you mean its depressing to see that many people online?

When there were 100K people online, even if 60K of them were bots, you weren't exactly communicating with them?

It doesn't make a difference to you if they are or aren't there, apart from you can communicate with the active community much easier.

 

Bots will never die they will eventually return.

This is the same for RSBuddy. If the instance variables are gone, they have to find EVERYTHING again every week. They'll be done by the weekend? Maybe. People can bot for 3 days. Then the whole thing starts all over.

It's unrealistic. Give up.

 

This would make sense. If they do an update every week or so, RSBuddy and the other cliented bots will need to find some other way of botting Rs without using the game's code. I'm very curious and eager to see what Arbiter and jacmob truly have in plan for this update. Only time will tell

on the other hand I think RID will be doing fine, might test that out.

I believe jagex has made a major step towards fighting the botting problem. however botters are like cochroaches. They survive nukes and start multiplying again.
There will be more RID-like bots developed in the close future I guess, or maybe they will even expend and rent their client like nexus used to do?
