Logical proof that God exists

How could it be the same person?
Wouldn't the same person think, and act the same way?

So basically, you're saying that to be the same person as you always were, you would have to do generally everything the same?

Not sure if srs or just newfag...
you would have to do generally everything the same?
Pretty much, except I thought we were talking about how a god could exist but not exist, which is not logically possible.

Well, a God who holds naught but the attribute of existence is ONLY existence. All I did was assign it the name of God as a test, which numerous people have passed.

So god is existence?

In my opinion, if god was real it wouldnt be a matter of beleiving/not beleiving, having faith/or not.
If something is real, it isnt questioned, Nobody can proove either side of the argument, so stop argueing.

If God does not exist, he cannot exist

From what I can tell, you're saying that if God does not exist, then there could never have been any present, former, or future situation in which he exists. Therefore he must exist, because he has been fabricated.

Thus, the Omniscient Flying Spaghetti Monster exists.

If that is true, then everything that has ever been imagined would be true and exists. Which brings up an 'imaginationland' scenario. (Southpark ftw)
But 'If God does not exist, he cannot exist' only applies to this purely hypothetical and mathematical scenario. Apply the phrase 'within this scenario, ' to all of those statements. This is only implied.

Addressing the issue of 'imaginationland', it is important for one to understand that things fabricated in the mind may only exist in the mind. On a technical level, it could be stated that anything that can be imagined exists to some extent, albeit only in a human mind. But when it is said that God 'cannot exist' it means 'God (that has been defined as only existence, but implying the omnipresent religious God) can not exist if he does not exist' which can also be read in the terms 'something that does not exist, cannot exist (at that same moment in time/for the same duration, in the same scenario, and the same implied location etc)'.

I more or less explained everything that I wanted to here but perhaps without the clear distinction between points that may have been needed.

God must exist, because if he didn't, the concept of God would be logically impossible, which it is not.

1). God is a necessary being.

You are not a necessary being. The world will get along perfectly well without you. You can either exist, or not exist, and the world will continue on. God is not such a being, as will be explained a bit later.

2). God as so defined either exists or does not exist.

According to the definition provided by the first point, God either exists, or doesn't exist.

3). If God exists, he necessarily exists.

If God exists, he has to exist.

4). If God does not exist, he necessarily does not exist.

If God does not exist, he cannot exist.

5). The idea of God is not self-contradictory.

The idea of God has no contradictions in it. It is not impossible for God to exist.

6). God exists.

Since it is not impossible for God to exist, and since if God does not exist, he cannot exist, God exists.

Discuss.

God is only necessary so that we can provide explanations to that which our brains cannot comprehend or understand, without God there is no purpose to our lives, no reason to do 'good' things to get into heaven and avoid eternal damnation in hell. If there was no God our morals would either a) not exist or b) exist without reason. which means society would not function as it has been, a relatively peaceful society.

God is simply a way for us to be controlled and for us to give explanation to that which we do not know or understand, when something happens that science cannot immediately answer it is all of a sudden a 'miracle of god' simply because we cannot explain it straight away.

God exists, but not in the way christians believe, he is not a living diety sitting atop the throne in heaven, he is but brain waves, he is in our minds, as nothing more then a protective shield from that which we do not understand or comprehend, he necessarily exists only as protection from our selves.

That's how I see God anyway.

Your "logical proof" of God existing can be extended to anything really.

Not only that, its mostly based on wording and the word "If" can be interpreted in many ways, which weakens the argument.

It can be extended to anything stripped of all attributes but existence, yes.

Can you explain how the word "if" can be interpreted?

Hmm. However, if he DOES THEORETICALLY exist in the minds of some people, but he doesn't THEORETICALLY exist in the minds of some peoplethen does he or doesn't he exist.

The matter that God does or does not exist as a physical being is a very complex and a different matter to this. So I'm not going to discuss this here, on a gaming forum. No offence

Reality is perception.

My reality is different from yours, just like my blue is not your blue.

This does not change the fact that your proof is full of holes and is nothing to be proud of.

Reality is absolute, and removed from each individual. How you perceive reality varies from person to person.

What holes are there? It's a God stripped of all attributes but existence (meaning nothing but existence), so it cannot be self-contradictory. If such a God did not exist, then its existence would be impossible, for how could existence not exist, then suddenly come to existence?

God does exist! Who do you think created the world? People cannot create oceans, land, or any other part of nature itself.

That is irrelevant. Planets can form by natural processes, over billions of years. As for life, evolution, beginning at simple chemical reactions, created it.
