Logging into RS for the first time in a while.

Just found an excel file full of old accounts so I decided I would log in for a bit.

This...is...all...so...confusing.

I left right around the time Dungeoneering was introduced.

Anyone mind giving me a quick explanation of how the trading works these days? Can you buy/sell gold easier yet? Anything very important released since then?

 

just new weapons, armour, prayers, quests, tornado spells.
It really depends if you've been reading anything rs related
Trading is a lot easier now but there are precautions to take if you're a gold farmer/seller.

2010:

12 April: The Dungeoneering skill is released, for both free to play and pay to play. Several glitches concerning Dungeoneering appear in the next few days, and most of them are fixed.
19 April: There is a Forum Reshuffle, that divides the Forums in Level-Based communities, many players rant about this change.

If you have any questions as to watch any of the above events are, simply do a search on RS Wiki for it, and even a Google search of the date and event name. That should bring you all up to date.


So, a few big things to note: Wilderness & Free Trade are brought back, Staking is popular again, Jagex launched a Bot Nuke that broke 98% of bots for a few months, and they successfully sued the creators of Nexus for over 7 digits, and got Nexus shut down. Powerbot & Epicbot got up and working again around spring of this year, and Jagex launched a BotWatch system which is basically be a 24/7 monitoring system of nearly all players in RS when it's fully activated. We're waiting for a 2nd Bot Nuke called Optimus, which should be soon (it was pushed back because BotWatch accidentally banned 40,000 legit players and they want to proceed slowly with their efforts in the future).

Wow that was a while ago!

Well what's changed?
Nothing bar a few shitty updates. If you were interested in bots, they were all nuked around this time last year. They then came back and we are currently experiencing a "bot watch" by jagex, promising the end of bots soon (again).

Most importantly is the update that is about to happen. the Evolution of Combat (EOC). Have a look at some videos on youtube.

On to trading cash. Well new accounts have a 25k trade limit, but that won't affect you. Gold prices are quite low, so I guess would seem a good time to buy. That being said, they are SERIOUSLY cracking down on real world traders, so just be careful. Best way is still to just stake yourself in duel arena, have a mule account etc..

OT; In regards to trading, either drop trade, kill yourself or duel, they're the safest ways (obviously not the most efficient but still).
