Loads of locked threads clogging up the forums?

Hey guys

I know it's not a massive big deal, and it could only be myself who finds this frustrating because I'm a bit of a clean freak, but is there a reason that threads are locked and just left locked? I can understand why they're locked for a couple of days so the OP can see there Suggestion/Feedback/Sythe Support has been replied to, but can they be archived afterwards? Normally I'd just PM a moderator about this but it seems like it's happening a lot all over the forums. I'm not sure if I'm missing a reason why.

I don't really think so. Archiving them means they're still on the forums, which means they must be deleted. Soft deleting them means they can still be viewed later if needed and I don't really know if the staff would want to Hard delete the threads because they may have future use. Not to mention only Globals+ can hard delete.

 

Regarding hard deletion, I really don't see that happening. With so many scams happening on Sythe, it's crucial to keep all posts/threads as evidence for reports and disputes. I would assume it's the same reason Richard doesn't delete accounts.

As for moving locked threads to the archive, I'll start doing my part in that in my sections.

 

It does seem a bit excessive. I don't think it matters much for Support Center, since a major reason for looking into that section is for viewing purposes. Although, there was a previous section about a "Support Center Archive," I thought that was pretty cool. Anyway, I've asked for community permissions, if I receive them I'll clean up the feedback/suggestions sections, if not, I think They Be Trippin/Tmoe can handle it if or if I don't receive permissions, well. Also, I don't think Globals can hard delete, it wasn't that way when I was one.

 

Yeah I assumed so. The market it isn't much of an issue because there's so much traffic you don't really see it haha.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a Support Centre Archive, more going into a suggestion there though. And thanks

 

I've created a new subforum in the archives for any support centre related posts and cleared every locked thread from Feedback. Are there any other forums you're concerned about?

Other than maybe having someone go through the suggestions forum sorting the closed ones into the Accepted/Denied subsections everything seems to be great now Thanks!

 

Believe it or not, I actually locked and moved over 2000 threads in my first 2 months of being mod, that was just in the support section.

I left a few in Sythe.org support so people can use the search option and search for their question before they ask it. As a lot of threads are just the same questions over and over.

I just cleared up the suggestions section. Moved all of the closed threads. I've been meaning to close/archive any old suggestions that never went anywhere, but I keep pushing it off. I'll try and make some time to do it soon if someone doesn't take care of it first.
