hopefully this demoralizes ahq enough so they choke against the C9 tiebreak, but ahq was looking so strong, I can't see C9 beating them in a pure game of skill.

 

FNC is probably one of the best teams out there right now. GO Fnatic!

 

Huni is a God. Carrying so hard.

 

Most teams are sorta on the same level, some teams are a little bit better. But SKT just so far ahead of everyone. Don't think there is a team who would be able to beat them in a BO3 or BO5 #MarinLove

Fnatic vs SKT in the finals is my prediction.

 

Fking rip, Fnatic tearing C9 a new one, C9 didn't have a chance, looked like FNC were vsing bots.... 218$ later rip NA I have lost faith in you.

 

Yeah, if they can get through EDG. If that happens it shows that they can work with the top teams in the world (i.e. the koreans on their side of the bracket).

important to note that EDG did have a 6k gold deficit 20 mins into their game with BKT, so maybe they won't be that good of a measure of fnatic's skill.

 

And I'm pretty sure SKT will win. I'd rather see them win actually, they deserve it.

 

at the same time, it would be nice to see another team take it after all the hype that is built around SKT, i naturally have to cheer for the underdog.

 

Although the chances of it happening are very small, I'm secretly hoping for FNC vs OG in the final.

 

EDG should have more votes although I voted SKT

 

Why do you say that? The poll isn't supposed to be a relative strength meter of the teams, it's supposed to be which team is most likely to win the WC.

 

As an NA fanboy it makes me kinda sad that we were knocked off. And even though I'm happy that EU is doing well, I don't really like Fnatic and OG that much

 

Haha I feel you. Really thought that C9 and CLG were the NA hopes this year, they both looked so good after week 1 (especially C9)

 

NA can go EAD, they've sucked for the last 3 seasons, always flopping, I give up on them.

 

Saw the OG vs FW win... didn't think they were going to drop a game but that was obvious.

 

Yeah, FW v OG was surprising. Was a great game, honestly. Back and forth. Some misplays by both, but I really think FW had an inferior comp. The malph pick was what threw it off, they didn't have enough AOE to capitalize off of it, and malph went tank. AP Malphite is near god tier right now, but as far as utility there are such better picks for fulltank with the new bruiser items.

 

It always surprises me how confident Niels plays when he's expected to carry his team. For someone so new to the competitive scene to perform so well at worlds in a team with high expectations is crazy. Props to him.

Jinx seems like a very strong pick with all the huge AoE damage and Tahm/Lulu team comps keeping her alive. More Tahm bans in the later games perhaps? It seems like he removes a lot of counterplay in the form of assassin pressure, and banning/stealing Tahm could probably shut down teams like ahq who rely on Westdoor to assassinate people and AN to do clean-up.

As for today's games I think OG did really well. Amazing screwed up his smites a few times when he really didn't need to smite early but maybe that just comes down to nerves. Either way, solid performance by them but still a few mistakes that they really should patch up.

 

Pretty obvious from group play that OG was going to take that one. The true test for them will be SKT in the next round - don't expect them to win but how they play will really determine how far the west as a whole has come towards being able to compete with Korea's elite.

(this is of course if SKT doesn't fall to the mighty ahq!!!!!!)
