Hey guys, just a thread to get your opinions on Litecoins and what you think of them. Litecoins consider them the Silver to Bitcoin. For example gold and silver Bitcoin are Gold and Litecoins are silver. They are pretty cheap atm but MtGox are considering to adding them to their trading so they could actually sky rocket and end up around 25 - 30 USD a Litecoin. Has anyone took the plunge and bought some Litecoins while they are low.

I was very interested in them awhile ago, but recently, I given up all all of the "coin" currencies. In my opinion, they're not very useful unless you're investing in them, and recently, their prices have been pretty unstable.

Mhm, only downside is LTC isn't really useful to buy items online. It also doesn't have Silkroad to back it up either so its rendered useless.

If MT Gox add it in the upcoming months then it will start gaining investors to it.

I don't think it has much potential, it seems a lot like a pump and dump scheme and there's no real reason for them to catch on.

What are your reasons for thinking otherwise?

Well, Litecoins just announced a Silkroad style market to give Litecoins more of a value.

There are people sitting on millions of dollars, even the creator of BTC who no one knows could be sitting on 10 million dollars if he actually did keep a wallet.

Pretty much, they are easier to mine than BTC and most people just swap for BTC after they mined them.

Ehh, I actually hope that they pick up a bit. I'd prefer to have something with a smaller denomination as opposed to sending 0.03 BTC.

Im looking to get some litecoins pretty soon too.
If Mt.Gox, I am sure it will hit $5+ minimum but.... You shouldn't hold to them for too long. They aren't accepted by many vendors and it will skydrop back to $2-3 (In my opinion) once the trading market remembers this.
