    Computer troubles.

Hi guys, i need some advice please.
Basically my computer seems to freeze up, every programme that is open/running, comes up with 'not responding' for about 10-20 seconds maybe longer? then clears and is ok, untill the next time.

Its happening more and more frequently and i have no idea what the problem could be. I've also received the blue screen like 3 times.

My knowledge is pretty basic when it comes to computers, But a point in the right direction would be very very helpful.

    Thanks in advance

    How old is your computer?
    What OS are you running?
    What are your specs?
Have you scanned for possible viruses?

It's possible your PC may be just full of stuff it doesn't need. Have you checked and removed and stuff you don't use? And have you ever run a defrag on it? Regardless blue screen errors are usually the cause of an error. Do all Windows Updates, remove anything you don't need. Run a defrag, and then see if there's any change in performance.

PM a log of everything that is running in your "Processes" tab on task manager. I think you have FUD viruses.

Added your MSN, a defrag is basically when you tidy up everything on your PC. It is possible it may come to a system format, but hopefully you won't have to do that. I would start backing up things you want to keep just in case.

Download CCleaner, do a scan and clean up all fragmented drives that way. Windows 7 also has its own defrag, just go to the start menu and type in defrag and click Disk Defragmenter, run it for your drive(s). And may be worth opening task manager and closing all unnecessary processes which are no doubt running.

Usually with stuff like this it's faster to reinstall windows in like 30-45 mins than to look into this further.

Just backup your files and reinstall, it's very simple.

Check how many processes you have running on startup? Too many of those can cause any computer to drag it's feet. But my choice would be to just reformat. It's always good to do every once in a while anyway just to get that "like new" speed.

And I like the guys sig above me.
