In terms of living before conception, I don't believe in it. I don't think life has any purpose but to perpetuate itself, and even then, that is not some divinely ordained thing, but only exists because life that doesn't perpetuate itself dies.

I've seen no empirical evidence to support that, and I find it unreasonable to think that your personality survives the death of your brain.
