Strip fun ranks after a pardon?

I voted no. If a user has obtained a fun rank they earned it. I also don't think fun ranks instill any sense of trust upon the user who has the rank, so not quite sure why it would be removed if they have successfully pardoned.

For a regular user they are next to impossible to get: can't simply just work to obtain another one.

They hold no trust in them, can be compared to mini-ranks in that sense as they do not get removed upon being banned/pardoned.

Pardoning does not erase the hard work that a user has put into the site to earn the fun rank either.

 

Voting yes. You've broken the rules enough to get a perm ban and have to ask the staff to be considered for a pardon. Seeing as pardons are a privilege and not a right then why should you be allowed your fun ranks back after an unban?

To get permed you'd have to do something pretty bad in any case. You should have to re-earn the fun rank(s).

 

I voted no, a user being pardoned in no way diminishes their achievements.

 

Voted no simply because I feel it is unfair if someone is cleared of their wrong doings to lose something they had earned.

 

I dispute the fact they imbue no trust.

Voted no. I think fun ranks are perceived as a sign of trust to some people, however I feel once a person is pardoned they are absolved of the past and shouldn't receive further punishment in the form of previously earned ranks being stripped as well. They shouldn't receive a pardon if the staff aren't prepared to have them back on the site in full form.

 

I say no, as many mentioned fun ranks aren't easy too obtain.

 

Why would it not be? They may have earned it, but they also did something wrong to get banned. Depending on what the ban was for, I support. There are always stupid bans going on, though.

Also, fun ranks do "instill trust" to a lot of new users.

 

This wouldn't teach the user anything at all. You would only add punishment to the already served punishment, which is overbearing and unnecessary.

 

I voted no. Removing the fun rank (which are extremely difficult to earn) after being pardoned is not doing anything but discrediting the work put prior to being banned/pardoned.

 

Voted no, although I'm not too sure if I would want the rank to remain for the funrank that directly imply trust, for example the Highly Trusted, Highly respected etc.

Voting no fun ranks are extremely hard to earn and is a symbol of their achievements in the past. Being banned shouldn't diminish this
