League Tournies

Does anyone know of any sites that host league tourneys for money for riot points if so let me know i think it would be fun to compete in some even if i don't win!

I know mobafire used to do some, not sure if they still do. Usually gave out RP for winning any tournaments.

You can also play at VG at the site posted above, but I wouldn't really recommend it unless if you're p5+. You also get to play money games on Saturdays if you buy in on VG.

RP prizing across all tournaments is the same, they reduced the prizing in half.

 

thanks guys and panda I'm plat 2 not sure how it all works yet but I'm gonna look into it and finding a team to get together and see if we can give it a shot can master tiers play against plats and stuff or are there brackets?

 

The way it works varies depending on the tournies.

There are tournies like Victorious Gaming (VG) where the bots automatically select your teams for you. Since you're P2, you will be placed into Bracket A which is made up of players all P5+ with some G1s with high MMR. However, you will most likely not be able to play with your friends.

If you play in tournies like NXG (where I normally play), you make teams be captain draft. All the highest players P5+ are generally selected as captains and you will be able to draft your own teammates going in order. The lowest ranks pick first and then they go down the line. If your friends are all fairly low rank, you will most likely be able to pick most of them and be able to play together. Most teams generally consist of 1 plat, 1 high gold, 1 low gold, and 2 silvers. If you're a D5+ captain though, it's generally 1 diamond, 2 mid/low golds, 1 silver, and 1 around B3 or so.

Playing NXG is quicker because there's only 16 teams normally so you would generally only play around 4 games and only requires 2 wins for you to be in the RP rounds. If you play in VG, you will have to play 5 games and will require 3 wins to be in the RP rounds. Regardless of which tourny you decide to play, the prizing is pretty much the same, the only difference is the way the teams are selected. They all start at 7PM EST.

If you want to play in the premade 5s, I believe those are only held on Saturdays, but I forget which server hosts those. Those aren't every day tournies though, full premade 5s are almost always strictly on Saturdays only. You won't be playing all high level teams either. Most of the time, it's 1-2 super stacked teams of all diamond+ and rest are just random teams thrown together by friends.
