Laptop Keyboard not working

Well I just came back after I left my Laptop on and the keyboard doesn't work, not even at the startup screen. Any Ideason whats wrong?

 

I assume you tried shutting the computer off, waiting 30 seconds and then turning it back on?

 

Yes I have done that and also have tried taking the battery out for a few minutes also

 

What kind of laptop do you own?

 

It's an HP

 

The model number is what I was looking for.

EDIT: Not sure if you tried this, but take out the battery again and hold down the power button. Make sure you remove all external devices and power down.

Nope.

 

Check to see if the onscreen keyboard works... You may also want to check device manager to see if it is disabled or something. System restore might help if nothing else does.

 

Onscreen keyboard does work, but once I log into my profile I don't know where to find it.

 

For onscreen keyboard. Start menu - programs - accessories - accessability

For system restore. Start menu - programs - accessories - system tools

 

Try to restore it with the original system cd.

Ok, I'm guessing that this is related to the hardware, and not the software. You should go out and buy a cheap usb or ps/2 keyboard.

 

Yeah, turns out it was due to overheating so my moms friend took it to his friend and they are charging me 50$

 

Really? Overheating damaging a keyboard? Hopefully you didn't get ripped off, since I think it would have just been a loose connection.
