Laptop Cooling Problem

Well , I bought a Spire PacificBreeze as my external laptop cooler, and I don't know if its doing the job cooling mylaptop. I'm using medium performance or balanced power plan , and also playing one game called Counter Strike. What happens is that my laptop makes a really loud fan noise then stops and repeats over and over, and I'm not sure if this is normal, or that my laptop is overheated but buying the wrong laptop cooler. Are you blocking the fans with you leg or whatever?
Do they have enough air flow to them?

If you do this, the system fan will get lots of dust clogged round it, which will not let enough air get to the CPU, if the laptop is turned of for a long time, which will result in the laptop powering down or something similar.

To fix this, you could either take it to a shop and ask them to change the system fan (if needed) or give it a clean inside. Or you could do this yourself by removing all the dust around the system fan (Will require you to take your laptop to pieces, so only do if you know what your doing).

Happened to both of my laptops:
HP Laptop - System fan was replaced, as i sent it in under warrenty (Not sure if they did it as a precurtion or not)
Toshiba - Did myself and found thick layers of dust clogging the vents and heat sinks.

I don't think your laptop cooler would do much because, if your clogging the vents on your laptop, your most likely doing it to the cooler, also if the laptop can't get air in the first place, the cooler couldn't replace the system fan.

 

I just leave my laptop on the table and have it turned on x2 speed. The fans aren't blocked. The problem is that I dont know any shops or don't know how to clean the dusts in my laptop. Just makes a lot of loud fan noises when gaming =\

 

I still stick by what I said, that the fans will have a lot of dust around them, how long have you had the laptop? One of the times it happened to my toshiba laptop, the mainboard had to be replaced.

 

I have the same problem with my H P laptop, I purchased this fan stand and it never gets hot now. . .
On sale right now at Best Buy for $20

 

its a 2007 model laptop and i started using it around dec. 2008

 

Well in least it lasted longer than what both of mine did but I still think the fans clogged, I suggest trying to clean it, espesially if its like very warm air its blowing out.

The laptop cooling system that I W C M O R E posted is very good because it curves up, which allows air to come in and out, instead of cheap ones that are just flat with 2 fans in them, which basically do fuck all.

 

I might consider buying it.

What are some stores that will open up my laptop, and then clean the entire dust?.
