Laptop Battery Life

Anyone have any tips on lengthening it? I have about 1 hour on a good day! It's terrible!

It's really limiting to where I go and the amount I need the charger.

Any help?

 

This current one goes for only 2-3 hours. Can't even finish transformers 2 on full battery.

 

Buy a new one. The only solution.

 

Turn your screen brightness down, that'll use way less battery.

But onestly the best solution is to just buy a new one. Can be found online for $15 anywhere if you know where to look.

If you can't buy a new laptop, I would invest in a new battery. They're relatively cheap and easy to install.

I use power saving mode and can get 2hours+
Most run on high performance. Yeah, brightness too. Keep your processing low and you should use less RAM which in turn I think will put less strain on the computer... Yeah.

 

I have the same problem, my laptop is suppose to last 2-3+ hours and it lasts barely 2, if I'm lucky. Maybe you should consider buying a 9 cell battery (most standard laptops come with 6 cell). This should give it another 1+ hour battery life.

My laptop gets about 40 minutes MAX, with everything turned off

 

Are you on power saver?

 

Is there a battery reset option?
Our school laptops have that, it puts the battery length back to full.

 

Buy a better battery.

 

Laptop battires start off good but only have so many charge cycles before they cant be used anymore - until they die they will gradually last shorter and shorter amounts of time on a single charge.

Only cure is to get a new battery - then it'll be fine.
