I definitely wouldn't say it's trashy. Especially getting any tattoo that actually has meaning. It's expressing things that you have gone through, or believe in, in the form of ink on your body. There's nothing trashy about that, getting it anywhere. (The face may have a couple exceptions, such as the shitty tear drop). You might have another way of expression, but some people, that expression is through ink.
