Kinaesthetic Scammed Me

Apparently Kina charged him like 25 euros for this saying it took him an hour. Clearly he didn't put ANY kind of effort into it considering the only real artwork there is at the top which is his signature...

Clearly the customer deserves his money back, Kina did a pretty crappy job.

Probably will not be one because look who did it. I mean Corey said he would take care of it but no word from him yet its probably being discussed in the SL but I doubt anything will get done about it IMO. Look who is involved.

This isn't the first time a report has come up on Kin.

As an ex-moderator, trust me when I say the discussion in the SL will be taken seriously and it will be resolved. As for Kin getting special treatment from staff... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... If only you knew.

Gotta be patient man, you gotta trust us when we say the mods are looking into it. These reports can take a while to sort out, they aren't instantaneous.

 

I don't think you agreed with the gfx artist to work per hour and get paid per hour, if he kept asking for revisions and wasting his time while he's making graphics then he brought it up himself

 

Is this stupid argument still going on? Cannot a Mod just close it and he can get someone to deal with the scam report? Its been going on for 1 week.

 

Think about it this way, I contact a private company to build me a deck(relying on their past work and references). After agreeing on a set price for labor and paying up front they build me this

I don't think you even read what i said, there was no 'fixed price' it was a paid per hour deal, so your view on it is wrong. He agreed on it and used it before changing his mind. You should look at it this way rather, you go to any garage, say you want your car modified. Both parties agree on an x$/hour payment. After the work is done you pay, because you liked what you saw. Then later that week you're like, meh i actually don't like it. I'm gonna make him refund me because i changed my mind.

 

The fact that it was paid by the hour makes no difference in my example. If I paid them $8/hr + supplies to do it and when they finished it looked like complete shit I'd still expect them to fix it or give me a refund without charging more.


It didn't happen that way. He didn't think it was awesome and then decide later "meh, I don't like it." He had already paid up front and didn't get what he expected based on the quality of work that kina advertises on his thread...hence the scam report. Instead of just charging back his money he's doing the appropriate thing and submitting a proper report.

That isn't near the quality advertised or expected from him, any novice gfx artist could throw that together in a half hour.

 

The fact that it's paid per hour DOES matter, he agreed on per hour so it's obvious he pays per hour. If he keeps asking revisions and keeps bothering the artist then it's obviously going to cost him more. You just judge the work with the price but it's not how you should since there wasn't a set price.

He even used the signature on sythe for like what? A week? After that he posted this report, isn't it a bit weird to say you like it except one thing (we'll leave that up for dicsussion, can easily be removed it's no major thing) And uses the signature. Then one week later you don't like it anymore.

 

If I asked someone to detail my car and give them specific parameters and we both agree that it will be done by the hour, if in 5 hours they do something completely different than I've asked for(Kina fucked up the dimensions from the original email, shitty thread layout etc) then its still a scam regardless of how I've agreed to pay them. I'm not saying some of it wasn't legitimate time spent(obviously doing edits and stuff counts) but some of it was him correcting his own mistakes or editing what bigboi had already asked him to do in the first place.

Again, if I pay someone $8/hr to work out in my yard clearing brush and they get done what any reasonable person could have done in 15 minutes done I'm not paying them for any more than 15 minutes.

I'm not twisting his words, in that example you're right. But I've read the actual conversation and he pays him, kina gets things wrong/not what he asks and he tells bigboi that it'll cost more to fix them when it was kinas fault in the first place for not following instructions.

Yeah, the signature looks like the only quality thing that kina did for him, he sure paid out the ass to get it too... I wouldn't blame him for using it.

He said that he liked one thing, and asked him to make edits to it therefore costing more. That'd be perfectly find if that was the only artwork that was done...however he WASN'T satisfied with other parts of it and never said that he was.

 

He made me a sig, after looking at his previous pieces of artwork I was shocked at how bad it was compared to his previous ones, so I tried to tell him in the nicest way without being too direct which may offend him. He only gave me the option to pay him upfront hourly, and he came up with this product for me. I even made a post about it on the graphics gallery http://www.sythe.org/graphics-gallery/1606798-just-got-sig-done-tell-me-what-you-think.html to seek approval from other members as this was the first time I really paid for graphics and expected them to be good.

 

As someone with GFX experience that has done a fair amount of paid work, I'll give my 2 cents on the matter.

1. I agree that what you paid is VERY expensive, if not overcharged. If he spent longer than an hour or two on the lot, I'd honestly be surprised.
2. I agree that if you don't like it, the artist should try his very best to change it around until you like it, especially if you take into account the big amount of money you've spent.
3. If you don't like what the graphic artist made for something you've paid already, under no circumstances is he in a position to tell you different or to bitch about it behind your back.

Some people are more critical than others, but those people are usually very aware of what they want. I'm sure if the artist had spent a bit more time in listening to this person's demands, both parties would have been very well off.

Probably going to be a couple more days who knows how long its going to be in the Staff Lounge Corey took it upon himself to say he would handle it and im sure he will contact you soon enough but things like this shouldn't be put off ya know.
