Just thought it was pretty funny:

As many of you may remember, I ran an experiment a few monthes ago on GE price manipulation. I bought aound 8,000 kebabs, driving the GE price from 1gp to 40gp.

I forgot completely about it until today, when I was looking around the Runescape wiki page- and merchanting kebabs is now listed as a moneymaking method. Sure enough, the GE price of kebabs is still around 40gp. w00t!

Buy for 1gp near the bank in Al Kharid, sell for 40gp in ex.

I'm not promoting this as a moneymaking method. There are tons of easier ways to make money.

I'm just surprisec that I could single-handedly make a lasting effect on the Runescape economy, which has definitely been noticed by other people.

i did something similar to you, raised price from 5 gp - 40 gp lol. made around 600k off it too.

I amde a few hundred k off it, but nothing significant. I just wonder if this could be repeated on other, more popular items.

if you buy alot of something that sells good that cant be reproduced easily,it will make price go up depending on how much u buy.lets say you buy 1000 dark bows at high ge price,wait a month,resell for the low but the low will now be higher than the high was before.its common sense of any ecnommy.but you need alot of money to do that in the first place.another good way is when a new item comes out,buy as many as possible at ge price.since jagex sets the price on it it will be low compared to what it would be without ge.so the rpice will go up,sell,be rich.

I used to do that, but it takes too long. The new method of GE merchanting I discovered got me 10m in the last week

Lol nice ways of manipulating the market, I'll have to try this sometime.

I did it with only 3 accounts, and raised the price about 400%
