Of course it didn't originate from Hong Kong. It originated in Guangdong China, Hong Kong is just the main place where people speak Cantonese in. Because Mainland China is forcing Mandarin onto people, which I find is bad. Cantonese is around 2,000 years old, in the Tang Dynasty, they wrote poems, if it was read today in Mandarin, it wouldn't rhyme, but if it was read in Cantonese it rhymed. Mandarin is around 800 years old.

Nah, Cantonese sounds better than Mandarin. Nine tones owns four tones, we automatically sound better. Besides, songs sound much better in Cantonese than it does in Mandarin. For example: Rap, Rock, RNB, et cetera. How do you know Cantonese is the reason why Westerners think Chinese is "Ching dong kang", that sounds a lot more like Mandarin than Cantonese.
