makes alot of sense what your saying and i think its realy unfair to be honest, i mean if that happened to me id be fucked.... in prison till court....shitty barister lol
That's EXACTLY what they base it on you fucking idiot. They look at the charge, your financial situation and your history with breaking the law. If you have a lot of money and it has a history of being associated with not showing up in court and/or leaving the country (murder...), your bail will be higher than a first time being indicted, middle income guy who stole from a store.
No they aren't set on your financial situation because there have been bails set at only $1. And obviously anyone can afford this. Bails are set in terms of your charges, not finances.
Eh,we're greedy bastards. If he had a good financial background, maybe an iffy record with the law. We all know hes gonna have a high bail if he has alot of money. If you could choose to pick up a 10 dollar bill or a hundred which would you choose? I mean hes not gonna charge him $100 dollars when they could get a million out of him. Money is all people care about anymore. So they dont give 2 shits as long as moneys out there.

You're a fucking idiot. You're suppose to be able to pay it. You don't just pay bail and be free to go. The only purpose bail serves is deterrent to stop you from not showing up in court. The 8th amendment protects against unreasonable bail.
Bail is based on flight risk. Flight risk is based on various things including financial status and the crime committed. If someone making $30,000 and had an otherwise clean history with showing up in court was accused of murder and had to pay a $1,000,000 bond it would be considered excessive bail. On the other hand, a billionare with the same court history was on trial for murder, $1,000,000 may not be enough to ensure he shows up in court. If you show up in court you get your bond back...
What, you think they just pull a number out of their asses? They use specific fields to determine the bond amount.
Allow me to remind you - THIS IS A CAPITALISTIC SOCIETY. You can get a free lawyer if you're poor. If you think the lawyer is shitty, don't use it. If you want the same lawyer Bill Gates uses then you better work as hard as Bill Gates to pay for it. No handouts for socialist bastards like you, sorry. GTFO.
OR we COULD just do the right thing and not break the fucking law... That way you don't have to worry about it... And it doesn't take RICH lawyers to get yourself out. It takes half a brain.
I was watching television and was watching a recount on a court case. This man was found guilty of attempted murder on his wife and was given a bail of 1 million dollars. Any average person would not be able to afford this however he was very wealthy and easily paid this. Then later he paid a very large amount of money to hire lawyers to prove his innocence, and he was actually found not guilty.
Now any average-wealthy person would not be able to afford any of this. And if this circumstance was put onto an average-wealthy person they would not be able to afford the bail or the lawyers and would go down as a convicted murder.
My discussion for this is that this individual was given justice simply because he could afford it, not because of the justice system. This raises the discussion are rich people served justice more so then an average-wealthy person.
