Just some general RS advice needed.

So, as someone who hasn't played RS in quiiiiiite some time, I think I might get back into it a little bit in my new downtime that I have since I dropped one of my morning classes. Unfortunately, however, it appears that RS has drastically changed since I last had an account. So I have a few quick questions I was hoping you guys could answer.

What's up with the economy? Is it still shit? Why is everything so expensive?

Are bots really gone for good? And did RsBuddy ever live up to it's claim?

Is PKing still a viable way of making money? If so, what types of PKers are worth leveling? (Zerkers, Maxed, Maulers, Clawz Rushers, Etc.)

Is skilling still a viable way of making money?

Wtf is a Turmoil Pure or whatever?

Hi, I'm glad to see that you're getting back into the game. It's become a lot more fun for most legitimate players since the 'Bot Nuke'. I'll answer your questions as best I can.

It's still pretty bad. The botting was causing all resources to be over-stocked, thus lowering the price as well as the price of gold because everything became incredibly inflated.

Are bots really gone for good? And did RsBuddy ever live up to it's claim?

I wouldn't say gone for good, but definitely gone for a long time. There will always be someone that can 'crack' the code as long as Jagex has thier game mostly Java-based. Colour bots will always remain. RSBuddy has closed down as I imagine you have read about, by the time I post this.

I make a good deal from PKing, personally on my 1 defence pure. It seems Turmoil pures are the new rage though, as they are incredibly powerful (will explain in your last question.)

Is skilling still a viable way of making money?

There is, even more so now with the bots being out of the way. Bossing is still pretty good money, and you can even kill Green Dragons now for around 400kgp/hr. Not bad if you ask me. Dicing/Staking are given, but those can potentionally lose you all of your money.

Wtf is a Turmoil Pure or whatever?

Basically, it's a pure with 30 defence that has done the 'Temple at Senntisten' quest. It's a quest that gives players a whole new set of prayers called 'curses'. The best of those, 'Turmoil' (where the pures get their name obviously), is a curse that gives insane bonuses to all melee attributes. It requires 95 prayer, however. This pure fully maxes at 112 combat or something, I think. I'm not at home currently, so don't quote me on that level estimate.

To be honest, although the economy isn't at its best at the moment, the bots have finally been removed, therefore it should start to pick up.
