^ This is true. Maybe I need a break from Sythe for a while or just learn to go to bed at a decent hour. Will try working out again.

Any better sleep? Maybe it's not even the computer, maybe you've got a lot on your mind? Buy some melatonin.

Honestly if you aren't getting any sleep it could be your biological clock is off by a bit. Take a camping trip, the tranquility of the night helps to take away from the noises of modern life and reset your biological clock.

This definitely just won the post of the day. This not only seems like it would be effective, but also makes me want to go camping. It's been quite some time since I've went camping & tubing.
    -----------------------------------------------------
Anyway, I've been seeing a lot of suggestions for ways to sleep. I've been through a lot in life and have been through periods of time where I've experienced different reasons for losing sleep at night. (eg. depression, insomnia, etc)

First off, there could be many different reasons as to why you are having trouble sleeping. Beings the fact you just lost your job, I would assume it has something to do with the fact you have too much on your mind and racing thoughts.

There's a few ways to help resolve this.
(My suggestions are going to refer to your situation)

1.) Learn to control your thoughts and/or counter-act them.
2.) Think of somethingpositive and how you're going to get out of the whole you're in.
3.) Stay active throughout the day.
For instance, if you lost your job, you should be actively searching for a job throughout the day and giving it your full effort so when you go to bed, you are excited to wake up the next day and follow up on your leads. Otherwise, you're going to have reoccurring thoughts about you losing your job and how f#!ked you are.

These are just a few, but I'm sure I could come up with some more. I could honestly go for days on this topic, but we'll leave it at that. I did notice you said you doing better are getting some rest throughout the night, but what about finding a new job. How's that going?

That's true, but he could always use a few tips. I actually have some myself as I used to have this problem during school, and would go to bed at 2-3AM, and sleep through my first 4/7 classes.

As for disciplining yourself, you need to allot yourself only a certain amount of time on the computer, or set a time when you MUST go to bed for work the next day. (just a scenario since you lost your job, this could be a way for when you find another one)

You just have to tell yourself that you must go to bed at this time so that you can get a full night's worth of sleep so you can function tomorrow at work to your fullest potential. The computer or gaming system will still be there tomorrow, as it's not going anywhere.

If you notice that it's about 30 minutes until you told yourself you were getting off, make sure you are wrapping up anything you are doing so that you don't go over your time limit.

Like the guy above said, it really is up to you, but these are some thinking habits and ways you can encourage yourself to stay on schedule and not allow yourself to break your own rules that you've set for yourself.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me and I'd be more than willing to give you my advice.

    Just lost my job...

Update: I interviewed at another Law Firm, and they called back later same day to ask for employment references.

In another note, I have to take some test for a TSA Officer job I applied for, next Tuesday.

My recommendation would be to go to a Dr and have them prescribe you something to help you sleep. Once you get your sleep under control you will feel a lot better. Post an ad om craigslist saying your a hard worker and are looking for a job, if you live in a big city from past experience you shouldn't have a problem getting a new job. I posted an ad and I've received 7+ calls about job offers. That's your best and fastest route to take while you take care of your other issues.
