Just letting ppl know

I got hacked today and I've just started using WBot a few days ago.. I use a mac and pretty much only use my laptop for rs and homework so somethings fishy about wbot. Be careful

 

Its not the bot thats the problem it is some of the scripts, mainly the range guild one, if you get the scripts from the svn your fine but if you do them manually those are the ones that could be infected

 

Yeah I meant to say its obviously the scripts not the bots, just wanna aware people. I was safe since I had a pin and only got hacked for 1.6k iron knifes

 

You would think since all these accusations are coming out of being hacked that the Admins would recheck some of the scripts or find out what scripts the hacked members all had in common and do research from there...

 

They did, the ranged bot was trading a person's bank to another when they typed "hello again", so technically not a hack. The script was removed.

 

Ughhhhh. People really need to do some more reading.

All currently accessible versions of the script that Joch accused of being malicious(even the one that he linked himself) are entirely SAFE. The phrase 'hello again' has a completely legitimate use in the script. There was NOTHING dangerous in that script.

 

So what exactly was malicious/what caused people to get hacked?
Why did the script look for the words 'hello again'?

 

What scripts did you utilize?

 

I'm not entirely familiar with the ranged contest but 'hello again' is part of a phrase that the NPC says at some point. It would then check your inventory for arrows(bronze i believe).

Download everything with caution. I personally use Simba because I can see the script to make sure there are no hazards.
