Like it just seems like such an easy thing for them to do. Though I am curious about the mention of them doing so in the past.

 

When I worked for r2pleasent.com he told me stories about jmods. Jmods would sell gold to websites and ban them immediately. AFAIK they dont do it anymore or just stopped harassing r2.

 

Wasn't there some drama 2/3years ago where there were rumours about a jmod supposedly buying the ingame name 'joke' on sythe?

 

As mentioned before most shops use multiple accounts with multiple IP's. And most also only hold a max amount of Gp per account. As soon as someone in the RWT community realises that he's getting instabanned by one customer, the word gets out to other shops and everyone is more carefull. Or the IP of the customer will get spread to avoid banns for others.

Also going to livechat as Jagex that will mean that the person who ownes that website will know the IP of the Jmod? Unless they are using proxies etc, which is still not 100% safe. That seems way way to much effort. So much effort for only a few banns, the banns can be afforded by most shops so the impact is low for a high time-investment by the Jagex Team.

A current jmod owns the name "Joke" and he bought it on Sythe years before becoming a Jmod so yeah that was a bit of a ruckus.

A lot of current Jmods aren't perfect though. Ronan lured, Chrisarchie took 10b+ to advertise for LuckyD and presumably sold it or it just disappeared. I'm not really bothered by what Jmods do especially those related to 07 as they've created a pretty great game imo.

 

They use proxies and pretend to sell gold. No one cares about IP's when getting gold cheap... I know because I;ve literally bought gold from thousands of people. It'd be damn near impossible to figure out who's the JMOD. So many different people from all over the world sell gold. Right before I left Jagex was playing some fucked games. They were removing gold from accounts and moving characters around. I really think they get their rocks off fucking with Rwt'ers

Couple years ago someone tried to sell a pmod on a black market site and they posted a report with the link on the official forums and the pmod was later demoted. The only way they could of tracked it down was if they clicked the link and found the thread.

 

I'm more than sure they do but they can't stop it since the traffic is too much

 

I don't think the traffic sythe receives would be a variable. Look at returnofwild he was pretty huge, there ICU smecked him up.

Jagex pretends to have an issue with RWT. In all reality they dgaf. Without it, they would lose more than half their community. I know I make up statistics off the top of my head, but if I believe it, then it must be true. 90% of all statistics are made up. Cx
