Does anyone know if J Mod's ever come down here just to see the RWT activity?

For some reason I feel like they do, but they just don't want to ruin everyone's business.

 

Firstly, they aren't allowed onto this site legally; secondly if they were on here, i dont think they'd have any qualms about ruining everyone's business, since we're breaking the rules of their game

 

Genuinely curious as to why they aren't allowed on here legally.

 

Something along the basis of it's against sythe rules for them to operate here and anyone affiliated with them.

In breaching that, they'd be open to be sued probably - however as they're a business entity that have to honour T.O.S of the site etc, it's not just like a ban evader coming back - sythe can take action against Jagex.

Hmm I see your point but isn't this site breaking there rules to by being a platform for rwting, account selling and such? Keeping it relevant to op's question I don't think they do or else we'd have a lot of our accounts banned for rwt?

 

Could they not just hop onto a livechat and pretend to be selling gold to get a sites mules banned?

 

They could contact anyone of us and ban our ingame accounts, even if its from getting an account name for them to "pay" the gold to. They could do it very easily.

 

Would be too much effort for them. No way they would take the time to do this for such a little problem. Most people keep only a few 100m on each account anyways, and keep all mules on different IPs.

 

In essence they could. Sythe doesnt break Jagex's rules, the members of sythe do within its marketplace.

That being said, in a business/professional context just because one company has broken another's rules, doesnt mean it should do it back. Jagex has to be seen to act responsibly otherwise it'd lose faith with its consumers/shareholders.

 

You're right in that it would be too much effort for them, RSGoldFund I believe had only 1 mule and a few other sites off the top of my head but yup generally they have multiple of them

 

Is promoting RWT not bannable within itself?

 

I don't see how rwt is a little problem... Lets take eoc for example if people didn't have the ability to buy runescape 3 gp wouldn't they arguably spend that money on the squeal of fortune? Also affects the in game economy, the vast majority of botters do it for irl gp, them adding yew logs, rune ess or whatever it is affects the economy of runescape.

 

Sythe doesn't promote RWT at all. Just provides a forum for people to engage in it.

Just because members of a website break another companies rules, doesnt mean that website is responsible for it.

Edit: If you think in another context for example facebook -> the amount of comunity pages on that website that breaks other website rules is crazy yet these sites aren't doing anything about facebook.

anyway, on topic - im sure jmods lurk occasionally, but i doubt its as anywhere near as large a problem as it was in the past.
